The game is exactly what it's advertised at. A casual City builder that plays more like a puzzle game than anything else. It's not the kind of game you get sucked into for 8 hours straight, instead you play it bit by bit. There is no pressure, no sense of urgency, just a great soundtrack and a whole lot of islands waiting to be explored.
It's worth it at 5€ and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steal at 2.

Be killed, or kill em.
Have fun.
And get tunneled or lagswitched and have your favorite killer nerfed to death and beyond...

Still fun tho

TL:DR: Get in on sale if you like soft horror and Cthulhu.

The game itself is quite fun and I didn't have any bugs. My first playthrough took ~6 hours but I was quite thorough in my looting. So I expect future playthroughs to be a lot faster.

The graphics look good enough but the faces/animations are a bit uncanny valley. Performance was good for me (1050, i7 8700k, 16gb ram).
Overall the world is beautiful if rather glum sometimes and the use of colour is quite good though a bit on the nose sometimes. (Dev A:"We want it spooky! Make it spooky!" Designer: *drenches everything in phthalo green*)

Now onto the Story:
I liked it, its a fun detective story with wonderful occult themes, the characters act believable and I can't think of a moment that made me scream: " WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT YOU BUMBLING WET TOAST".
The Journal makes it easy to check names until you learn them, in my case that will probably hopefully in my second playthrough...
You learn to get around the different places quite easily and overall I didn't have any moments of getting actually stuck. Sometimes I stumbled a bit but most puzzles are solvable once you think about them for a bit.

The one thing that annoyed me was that the main character tends to shout a lot when it's really not necessary, He was a bit too on the nose for my tastes but since this is a given character and not one I could create myself there is nothing to be done here , tho I would have liked to join the cult with a bit more enthusiasm..

Overall I would recommend it if you either like occultism (see name of the game) or what I'm gonna describe as soft horror, shock value isn't gained from jumpscares or any particular scene but an overall feeling of uneasiness and some psychological horror.
I had a lot of fun figuring out all the puzzles on my first playthrough and am hoping to 100% this game in the near future.

It's a more simplistic Civ, for me personally it felt a lot like Heroes of might and Magic. Citybuilding is a lot less complicated and getting (+ keeping) your economy up will be easy.
The graphics are obviously outdated but have a certain charm to them, resolution goes up to over 1080p.

It's rather straightforward but lacks any real tutorial. There are some narrated textboxes to give you some help but thats it. The missing tutorial isn't too bad tho because the game overall is quite easy to understand.

It's not worth its 20€ pricetag in my eyes. Get it on sale and it will be money well spent.
