It's a great little time burner for $3! The story is very simple you are a hero and you need to fight the Demon Lord because he's making a Darkness that is consuming everything in its path. Since the game is procedurally generated you can have infinite runs and they even have set generated runs for you to play that they change so often that have lil quirks like harder monsters and better loot or you meet a guaranteed party member early.
Over the 8hrs I played I have beaten the Demon Lord 3 times with different classes that had their own quirk. My favorite is the Hero class which has it you hit harder but it you get hit from the side or back you take 3x more damage and he has a funny lil spell for you to use.
A big thing is after each run depending on how you do you get hero points that you can use to get perks, unlock classes or expand your Dimensional Chest which allows you to put away items you had on you that run so you can use it in a different run. It makes the game easier in a sense but its a slow progression for you so its fun trying to unlock everything and get more perks.
You're also graded on each one of your runs and if you get an overall S rank on your run you get a special look of that class for you to use in your runs ( it doesn't do anything but change the model) its not much but its fun in a way. All in all I'm going to try to 100% the game cause its so simple and fun!
I give this game a Slum Score of 12/30

Honestly, I can see what they were going for, but they made a major step back with this one. If Salt and Sancturary was Dark Souls then this is definitely Dark Souls 2 but it's actually bad unlike DS2, the controls just felt wrong for some reason especially for range attacks and the art style even though I can tell they put effort into the details tho it just looks like a mobile game, like they put in a lot of detail but if you told me they got that style from a 2000s How To Draw Manga book I would believe you. The world feels empty even though there are more diverse enemies per area they just feel so spread out and when they aren't, they bum-rush you into next week. Even though Salt and Sancturary has a little bit of this same problem it was the first of the series so you could forgive it for that, this is the sequel, and it feels like they tried to copy it, but they didn't understand what made the first one good. I hoped I would like this game but honestly it's just not fun and I wish I could explain exactly why it's not, but it is one of those things were its an instinctual feeling.
I'd give it a Data Rating of 7/30

Early Access Review
Honestly this game slaps hard, I've played Dwarf fortress and Caves of Qud and this game feels like a perfect combination between the two! I was sucked into playing this game for hours and I don't think I made that much progress, but guess what "I DON'T CARE" this game is so much fun that I'm totally fine with it. The different races and classes that it gives you is awesome especially with each one of them having their own unique feats that don't feel like they just copied and pasted one feat and changed its name. It's got tons of content for you to do even though it's still early access. My only complaint is that its hard to find the NPCs you need in big town because there's only a limited number of models their using but luckily if your NPC is important like a shopkeeper or trainer you can talk to a guard, and they bring you right to them. I wish I could say more but even though I've been playing for like 10hrs I've barely scrapped the surface. Also, the fact that the Devs are giving it updates like once a month is a major plus!
I give this game a Data Rating of 21/30

I finished the game at Lv 101 and Im missing like the 4 achievements that you get by following some npcs questline.
I really liked this game It had great shortcut mechanics like Dark Souls and the controls for being a 2D Rpg Platformer was perfect I never felt like I was fighting with them. Aiming ranged attacks and spells were easy to line up exactly where you want them.
There were some platforming troubles to get down at the final area though because of how confusing it was to get around the Crypt of Dead Gods even with a map, I just got lucky and found a fall that didn't kill me. (Don't get me started on the nightmare of platforming to join the Keepers of Fire and Sky creed, it was like Megaman disappearing platforms but with even stricter time limit)
The Lore/Story was a little hard to find out and you really only got a good picture at the very end talking to Jaret, though like Dark Souls you could find out more by reading the descriptions of everything.
I'd give it a Data Rating of 20/30⠀
