This game was incredible.

I found this game through a few friends, and played it to see what it was about. I've never played a visual novel before, so I didn't know what to expect. Wani had a story that was interesting, exciting, and at times had me holding my breath or at the edge of my seat with laughs and tears to be had. The characters are engaging, the art is fantastic, and the music is phenomenal. Each ending was a unique experience that left me in awe or dread, and I would go back into the game fully to find new things as I explored the next ending.

Best $15 I've spent on Steam. I truly cannot recommend this game enough. PLAY IT!

Banger

The game makes sense.

The intention is pretty much spelled out from the start - never giving up. It's written into the marketing, the gameplay, and the dialogue. And the way the game goes about portraying this message makes sense.

The controls are responsive, intuitive and the physics moves you 5m or 50m depending on how you interact with the world. That's the point!!! Mistakes are always the player's fault - they are learning and improving to overcome an obstacle until they reach the top as the game wants. I fiddled with the sensitivity meter to to the point I could comfortably perform full circles, and then there was a 0 percent chance that the main character would give up halfway through or randomly dive off. I could get through most obstacles by simply wiggling my mouse so am thrown at the exact angle I needed to bypass an obstacle. It's a patience and perseverance test rather than luck.

So, as the controls make sense, the game also has a reliance for motive on a different aspect - the narration. At certain "progress points" there will be narration that gives a little more insight onto the philosophy of the game and its creator. It doesn't matter whether you got to that point in 5 minutes or 5 hours, you get rewarded exactly the same.

Whenever you fall from a great height, you'll receive a blunt, borderline sarcastic comment from the narrator. There's never any comments about the time you're spending on overcoming an obstacle. Instead, you get random quotes from celebrities and jazzy radio tunes.

This makes the game a patience test and one about dedication. Most people only want to finish it so you can brag about it online, but others carry out the philosophy of the game in real-time to beautifully reinforce its meaning. The frustration comes from shortcomings and mistakes, not an active wrestle with your mouse while scratchy static blares in your ears alongside the 300th Abraham Lincoln quote.

As it is now, the game feels perfect.
