Scratches that Skyrim itch. Playing a mage is super fun.

Wasn't as hard to learn as I thought it would be, but still enough going on here to have fun skill depth and team play. Definitely will be coming back to this with my group. We said "one more match" like 5 times.

I am disappointed the color customizations on your player aren't visible to other players.

Can't be bothered to fix steam deck support even though the game works on consoles? It would make sense if the game was dead and the team had moved on but they are still pumping out DLCs so it's hard to fathom why steamdeck has been busted for years on a game that would be a perfect fit for the deck.

The good parts of Skyrim and Witcher 3 in a mostly no-magic setting. Highly recommended if you like exploration RPGs, story RPGs, or both.

Not much depth or variety, each run feels essentially the same as the previous one. It's trying to bring a structure similar to dead cells or rogue legacy 2 to a top down dungeon crawler format, but doesn't quite get there. The moment to moment core mechanics don't carry it the same way those games do, and the choices you make within each run feel less interesting and impactful.

Very promising game that appears to have some very cool depth and replayability. I don't currently recommend because it still feels a bit "early access" even though it was released in 2019. Primarily 2 issues make it feel clunky to get into:
1) It is listed as "verified" on steamdeck with the green checkmark, but actually does not have native steamdeck controls and is quite difficult to play with steamdeck. The official layout sort of works, but the game displays mismatched PC and xbox controls (no steamdeck native controls) and many game functions (most critically ability hotkeys) are very clunky to use in realtime. There is a community layout that is a bit better but still confusing to map on-screen icons to controller buttons and a few things like scrollwheel and use inventory don't work correctly.

2) There is no tutorial, and some of the basic mechanics are pretty opaque and non-discoverable. It takes a lot of trial and error and googling around to figure out the basics. There isn't even a simple text getting started guide anywhere I could find.

Some investments in usability could make this game a lot more approachable for newcomers and the fundamental game experience seems like it could satisfy an under-served niche for couch and steamdeck play in this kind of dungeon diving roguelike.

My friends have it on pc gamepass and I can't play with them from steam. Seems like it might be fun otherwise.

Enjoyed this more than I expected to. Fast and forgiving enough to not quite feel like a puzzle game, but tricky enough to feel smart when you accomplish a goal. Lots of different ways to complete a mission, and room for varying levels of success (e.g. "bloodless" and "ghost" completions). Very good balance of character permadeath with locked in progress as well. If it looks even remotely interesting to you, I highly recommend it.
