Gunship is a master of his craft.

I can't say enough positive things about this game. Best Half-Life fan game in years. What HDTF and Prospekt wish they could've been and some elements of what ep3 would probably be like. It has everything, satisfying combat, great level design, good funny writing, incorporates A TON of lore and enemies from other games and mashes it together very well.

My only gripe is the graphics polish which cant compare to black mesa for example, but I've mostly fixed that for myself and adapted a pack of every possible hd replacement for models and textures alike that I usually use for half life 2 and episodes, along with some portal hd textures and a ray tracing reshade and it has made it much more enjoyable for me.

In other aspects I'd say the gunplay and gameplay is better than Black Mesa, and the game is very inovative with the new enemies and mechanics. Wilson is a nice addition, I don't find him annoying at all (I did lose him half way through so haven't seen all of him). There's many small details I've noticed and many mechanics that I was pretty impressed by. The game incorporates some ideas from Half-Life Alyx and I see that as a good thing, it has brought back my love for the series just as much as that game. A great achievement for a small team in a small amount of time.

Edit: I see now what I've missed by forgeting Wilson along the way. Oops.

Updating this review from a negative one from the EAC backlash a few years ago as theres really no point it staying a negative one as I still use the platform.

This isn't a game as much as its a social platform and and alternate reality for a lot of people, you can tell that based on the fact that people will spend thousands on vr and fullbody tracking hardware to have the most pressence on here. It's a great place for introverts to socialize and an opportunity to meet people from across the world. Theres a whole bunch of things going on although public lobies can be a hit or miss. It's also an easily taken advantage of platform for sketchy individuals to fester their weirdness and degeneracy, but thats just the result of its openness and people being people. I'm appriciative of the devs efforts on maintaining and updating it even if the platform has become more comercialized in recent times but it's still a good place to hang out.

Surprisingly easy game to get into and it's pretty addictive. Gameplay loop is simplistic but it's fun. Dani knows his stuff despite his goofy style. It's free, easy to run and join, doesnt take up much space, so you can be up and runnin with your mates in a few min.

Best Half-Life 1 mod, now standalone and as always free. A must play.

So i remember playing a demo or something of sorts of this game a while ago. I remember it being pretty alright. So i was happy to see this on steam. I gave it a chance despite it having bad reviews, but i wasn't pleasantly surprised.

BETA - yeah i get it is a beta but at this point for a long developed mod i dont think anything could really make it better than remaking it from scratch.

Game has some nice stuff like pretty looking particle effects, and some models like the gauss gun are good looking. Wait, did i say gauss gun? Yep, but no the game didn't give it to me. I was forced to use cheats at one point because the game completely broke and failed to load a level (that was the second time but the first time it loaded when i came back to a certain position), so i started off with no weapons in the next level therefore had to use cheats. Some guns arent given to the player at all which i assume are kept for the continuation of the game since the game is very very short, 1 hour, and it would be even less if i wasnt stuck not knowing what to do every five seconds. Some parts of the levels look nice but most others look bad and level desing is poor and most of the time you will have no idea what youre supposed to do.

Also that bullsquid spit is the most pathetic thing i've seen in my life. I get that Black Mesa Squids are op with their projectile like spit but these ones are just so bad and short ranged, i just... and the ai isn't therible all the time but most of the time it is. There's no voice acting at all, and barely any reused dialouge from Half-Life 2 and some sound effects from HL1 and a lot of sound effects re-used from Condition Zero weirdly. Theres this security guard from the begining of the game i pressed use key on but i didn't even know he was following me at first, since there's no response and that just feels broken. He couldn't follow me for long but he for some reason teleported next to me everytime a new level loaded. Well he was somewhat helpfull i guess. He stoped appearing after i fell out of that vent and lost all of my weapons for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Well it's not the worst thing ever, there was effort put into it, but it is honestly pretty bad.
