I'm going to leave this review before I even play the update because:
A) It's more Monster Prom, it's going to be quality
B) I've seen some of it from YouTubers and
C) I'm too busy warming up my vocal chords to voice the characters when friends come home for spring break

If you liked the base game, Second Term is going to be right up your alley. The new designs, characters, situations and endings are perfect with a beautiful balance of real feels and meta bullshitery. It is an amazing piece of DLC and with how many insane seasonal updates we've gotten, the price is very well justified for the stuff we are getting.

If you don't have the DLC yet, do yourself a favor and buy it for yourself, buy a copy for your friends who own the game who don't have it, and then buy the Game and DLC for those who don't have either. If they don't like it well just summon the cult, hold an orgy and make your serfs make them like it!

When I first found this game by watching brief clips from YouTubers (Dan and Arin mostly), I was thinking this was just another dating sim/visual novel that had the quirk of a multiplayer element. Mainly I thought it would just be fun to destroy my friends chances with the characters, so I convinced one of them to play it with both of us going in blind.

After playing it for a solid 3 hours, I had to buy a copy for myself.

The game is easily one of the best games of 2018. It takes everything I love about this genre of game and cranks it up to 11. All of the characters are likeable and seeing one of them hurt or upset by your decision makes it that much more impactful on you as a player, be it squeeing in delight when you woo one to prom or screaming in dispair as they reject you, it really gets you into every aspect of it.

I really hope to see more out of this game, despite the massive amount there already is to see. More side stories, more endings and more random and quirky encounters would be awesome, so awesome in fact that I would not hesitate to drop money for them.

Solid 10/10

Early Access Review
This game was well worth the multi-year wait for it. The animations are solid, the voice acting beautiful and the fighting fluid and quick. This is definitely a combo fighter's game for sure.

Pros:
-Music is amazing and the dynamic music system runs almost flawlessly
-Pixel lobby is a great way to experience and explore the realms, though I wish there was more to do in them. It's early access so can't expect a huge amount.
-Fighting is crisp and fluid, though the characters feel a bit heavy at times. Makes your hits seem sharper and more damaging, but it makes it a bit harder to start and maintain decent combos.
-Lauren Faust's designs are beautiful, the voice acting is spot on, and the multiple color pallate options give each character a sense of personalization that you don't get from other games where characters may only have 2-6 colors.

Cons:
-The game, especially the arcade mode AI, is insanely unforgiving for inexperienced players. Combos can be hard to get started and maintain, and when you are trapped in an AI's combo it ranges from hard to downright impossible to break free without taking around 20-30 hits.
- Some content is missing, though the developers are upfront about it and what we have avaliable is well worth the price of admission. This isn't a critism as much as it is me wanting that missing content (Story Mode, Quick Match, etc.)
- The roster is small. This doesn't bother me in the slightest because there is so much to learn in the game I could spend hundreds of hours learning and mastering the movesets of the 6 characters. Would I like to see more characters and lore in the future, of course. What we have however is amazing.
- Just not enough to do in the pixel lobby right now.

All in all TFH is an amazing game, well worth the journey from Fighting Is Magic, and I really hope to see more content and more tweaking in the future. If you don't mind a little bit of missing content and can handle the large number of times you might get your butt kicked, then this is the game for you.

Scott, when you get things right you really get things right. This is an amazing, challenging and overall well designed and thoughtout game. The mechanics are good, the voice acting is phenominal and the atmosphere is, dare I say it, almost better than the original one.

There are a few issues with it, the wandering mouse, the glitch on night 2 and the huge difficulty of Night 4 compared to the rest of the nights. But these are minor and not impossible to work around, so while off putting to some happens to be workable for myself.

This is what the game needs to be to get more people back to the roots of FNAF and to the same kind of panic inducing fear that the original had while taking great elements from all 4 previous games (hell even a little FNAF World slipped into it in some ways).

This is just very solid work and I really enjoy what happened with the game.

Solid, very solid 9.5/10

The game could be better. The original horror aspect is lessened by the threat of power (Which in this game means Foxy is going to get you, but others can be avoided easily.) The puppet is more of a pain in the rear than anything. It does give you more of a jump the first time the music box runs out, or the first few times that old Bonnie or Chica appear when you put the camera down, but after that there is a decrease in the scare factor. I have made it all the way to night 3 so far without dying, but the game was already as challenging as night 3-4 of the original. I wish there would have been more of a haunting atmosphere, which I will admit is hard to pull off with this being a (SPOILER ALERT) prequel. I still want to know what is up with Toy Chica losing her beak when she moves around, makes her look more like a round faced Pikachu than anything, but it is still creepy when you see it. There are some glitches in the game, such as Foxy jumping out from the walls when your not looking directly down the hallway, or him popping out of your camera from time to time. These really need to be fixed, maybe by having a slightly longer cut scene for it where it forces you to look down the hallway. It wouldn't hurt as well to give the animatronics some slightly different death animation and attack screams. Just like at Chuck E. Cheese, the animatronics each have different voices so that needs to be brought out more. That's why it was hard to tell in the first game whether Bonnie was a boy or a girl at first glance. And don't even get me started on BB.

Overall, the scares are still there and are hightened by the ammount of things that are going on, the number of animatronics, and the new mechanics. The only issue is that gameplay is interupted by the music box mechanic, but it redeems itself by adding time constrainted suspence. Do you go for the music box or make sure that Foxy doesn't jump you?

Mechanics -8/10
Scares - 8/10
Gameplay - 9/10
Design - 10/10
Challenge - Very Challenging if you do not have a good strategy
Rage - Minor Raging early on, but get over it.
Glitch Fixes - Foxy coming from walls and cameras, Toy Chica's beak dissapearing(?)

Overall - 8.5/10

I Highly Recommend this game and I hope you all enjoy it.

IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE ORIGINAL, GO PLAY THAT ONE FIRST
I RECOMMEND PLAYING THE DEMO VERSION FIRST BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BUY (Night 1 and 2 on demo)
