The Devil May Cry rebooty is very interesting in comparison to the main series. It has a lower skill barrier and skill ceiling than that of DMC 4, which is the only other DMC I have played and can use as a comparison. That being said, the game is very enjoyable. The combat is smooth and intuitive. It welcomes many players, though might alienate the hardcore crowd that grew up with the original series. I grinded many hours on the Ps4 Definitive version and now having a PC copy, I still enjoy the series as much as I did before. As a more lower level DmC player, this game can still be a challenge despite the initial comments stating the game was too easy. In all fairness, was before the Ps4 version's release.

DmC also got a ton of flack for basically bringing in a different personality for Dante, but in all honesty isn't that bad. They progressively develops as a character, making him more likeable by the end. While I personally do not like Vergil's character all too much, his role is vital to the story even if people don't realize it.

One difference I have found with the game is the lack of controller customization options in comparison to the Ps4 version. On the Ps4 version you would have multiple alternative layouts for your controller, but there is only the default controls on PC. The default layout can be quite a pain for performing optimized combos and I would recommend customizing the controls if you find yourself not feeling too comfortable.

I got this for $1 through the HumbleBundle Capcom bundle. I was honestly surprised it played as well as it did on my laptop given I run an i5 with Intel HD 520 graphics. So I was extremely happy playing this again.

I believe the beauty in Dmc: Devil May Cry is that while it may not be objectively better than the previous games, that doesn't necessarily stop it from being interesting. We're dealing a more contemporary Dante who grew up a bastard and a degenerate. Realistically speaking, what else could you expect from the potty mouth edgelord as he grows into a better character.
