As someone who played the original Age of Mythology two decades ago, diving into Age of Mythology: Retold felt like stepping back into a world I knew and loved, yet one that has been beautifully reimagined for the modern era. From the moment I started the campaign, I was overcome with a wave of nostalgia that transported me right back to the golden age of real-time strategy games.

The campaign experience is just as engaging as I remember. The mix of mythological storytelling and strategic gameplay continues to shine, offering a blend of history, fantasy, and tactical depth. It's a joy to relive these epic battles, now bolstered by modern enhancements that make them feel fresh while staying true to their roots.

One of the standout upgrades is the graphics. The visual overhaul is impressive, breathing new life into the game's mythological creatures, heroes, and landscapes. Every detail feels more vivid and polished, while maintaining the charm of the original. Playing on ultrawide displays, in particular, elevates the experience to a whole new level. The expanded field of view provides a broader, more immersive perspective of the battlefield, making the larger-scale conflicts feel even more epic.
