The first Alone in the Dark in a long time that do the originals justice.

Some highlights for me are:
- Resource scarcity which is well balanced and made me give it a second though before wasting precious bullets.
- Amazing atmosphere and art design with great detail throughout.
- The sound design is great.
- Snappy menus which provide some great quality of life features.

Now, having played through the game twice. It's not without its faults. But the issues are the type that can be resolved in a future patch. And those are:
- I ended up getting stuck on terrain more than once - and in one case it even resulted in a game over. The constant asset streaming and loading between
- The combat is satisfactory in the case that it does what it's suppose to - but not much more than that. It provides some basic combat mechanics which can feel stiff and the soft lock on mechanic can cause troubles when attempting to target something else than the game expects you to.
- The constant asset loading between rooms can sometimes cause major stuttering

With an interesting story, to-the-point puzzles and, although basic but functional combat, this game have have shown that the franchise have the chops to be a modern classic when it focuses on what made the original great.

Early Access Review
Are you like everyone and their mother, and can't get enough of "Vampire Survivors-likes"? Do you also prefer your game to have laser guns, laser beams, laser bullets and other sci-fi [laser] elements? Then this game will provide you with many hours of horde killing! Many different weapons (not only lasers), abilities, and varied enemies and bosses!

Give it a try!

I've heard many say that "it gives that good old PlayStation 2 game feeling again". And I couldn't agree more.

A mix between satisfying arcade rhythm/spectacle fighter gameplay, short refreshing genre-breaking sections and the finest of Saturday cartoon vibes with impeccable presentation and a fun story. It oozes with charm and you can't help but notice how fun the developers must've had when making this gem!

Try it!

Highly recommended to anyone who want back to the early Capcom Resident Evil/Dino Crisis PS1 days.

Sci-fi, horror, great atmosphere, intriguing story and a sprinkle of inventory management that necessitates planning ahead. It was a while ago I was this hooked on a game. Great work Rose-Engine, you've created something wonderful here.

Immaculately designed zen-game who anyone with a sliver of sci-fi or puzzle interest should try out! I went in one evening expecting to spend 10 minutes with the demo version but ended up captivated for multiple hours. Highly recommended!
