TLDR- Squad is a great game ran by a developer who seems to have lost their way. I love the game but am not hopeful for its future.

2019- Fantastic game! Takes a little while to get into the flow of it. Slower paced tactical gameplay. Reminds me of ARMA. Just waiting for helicopters =P

2023- I still love Squad, however the dev team continues to ignore basic issues at the core of the game. It feels as if they no longer have programmers on staff and are just pushing out content they had saved up from back in the day to try and make it seem as if the company is still active. We rarely have any feed back on the Discord, Reddit, or even the OWI forums in regards to issues or complaints the community is having. Content that has been promised for a long time still has not been fulfilled. Emotes feel like a halfassed cash grab that they found on the old network drive and rapidly integrated to provide some form of an update.

My game performance has continued to drop as they push more and more updates to the point where it feels mostly unplayable now. I get about 30FPS until anything happens it drops to single digits. All the "fixes" and "updates" have just made it worse. Overall the game seems potato optimized but it doesn't run nearly as well as it did a year or two ago.

At least we finally got helicopters, then the flight model was updated making them worse.
