Very top tier game, it's managed to capture a very unique niche corner. Gonna be honest the only con I really have for this game is that the devs decided to abandon it to move onto other projects. What we have is what we have forever apparently. Which is a decent amount, and the modding community for this game is extensive so there's that for those interested.

This game has so so much potential, I want it to succeed so much. It is such a perfect blend of a Sid Meier's Civ game and all those deckbuilders you love. I love the concept, this is such groundbreaking in the sense that there is no other game like it that I know of, or have even heard conceived. I love the art in-game, the music, most things are common sense and intuitive, so you learn everything you need to know after the tutorial which covers the basics and then pick up as you go since each Civ's play-style is so different. I could honestly go on for far too long about what I love about this game, but I don't want to spoil anything as it's such a joy to experience this wonder blind if you enjoy Civ and deckbuilders, so I'll move onto the negative.

The only thing in theory holding this game back is itself. It feels like it could just keep expanding into infinity, and I would absolutely love it. Personally I would love nothing more than for this to keep adding and expanding cards, Civs, techs, wonders, ect, until the end of time. As it stands it feels a little too short, as in there's enough to get started but idk if I could play this forever. Pick it back up? Absolutely. But with no changes I don't think I could play consistently. The great news is that the Dev(s?) is very very much interested in this game and its development despite the only other problem I'll get into in a minute. He is still watching the community and adding cards, updating/fixing the mechanics, etc. His plans do not seem to be limited to the near future and I am very thankful for that. My only complaint would be that I believe their plans are to always keep the game streamlined and quick, with is both a pro and con for me. Not a gamebreaker at all, and more of a personal preference that I prefer long games most of the time.

The final negative point is the playerbase. Or rather the lack of it. It is honestly astounding to me how this game hasn't exploded especially given it's extremely positive reactions for such a new idea. At this current point in time it appears the game is hanging onto the last 50 players who absolutely adore this game, and I hope/expect to become a part of, but that's kind of daunting. I really hope this game receives the playerbase it deserves/marketing it needs? I'm honestly not sure because it's just a shock to me how hidden this beloved game is (87% liked at time of review) with a few YT videos getting 50K views and only around 600 players clocking in at game release to check it out but not stay around. This isn't the biggest deal honestly because there are bots in the game and they're not the worst thing ever, and if you have friends to play this with I'm sure this will never really be a problem for you as you'll all just hop on together, but as someone in the backrow it could become a downer.

In any case seriously I love this game and have huge respect for the Dev, hope this continues to grow both in scope and popularity, I highly recommend anyone reading this review to give this game a try.

This satisfies so many itches for me it's crazy. I love this game so much. It's like playing a more detailed yet shorter session of Axis&Allies.

I love deckbuilding games, but I'd never found one online that was good. I usually prefer to play them in card form with friends. But this game absolutely swept the floor with the other online options I've had. Definitely gonna rack up the hours getting all of the achievements.
