alright, been waiting for this game for a while and it does not dissapoint - the demo is limited in ship tech, but gives a pretty good feel for general gameplay loop - buddy was a clutch ai companion in place of a player, and missions felt just the right amount of time. Really loved the variety of objectives on the frieghter attack mission, and really like the whole vibe of the game, It plays like wildgate fused with void crew, with a faster pace and a more grounded scifi setting, without losing the wow factor.

Early Access Review
C.A.S.T. is the horror extraction shooter i have been waiting for - packed full of fun encounters and interesting objectives. These truly are the bones of an incredible game. Controls feel pretty good, monsters range from the shambling dead to terrifying abominations. Audio design feels great, and the graphics style is nostalgic ( PSX/N64 era, especially things like goldeneye).

This is a game i will be playing for a while, and will certainly dump many hours into it as it nears launch.

its a really satisfying rpg - ragdoll physics on hits, fun interactions between monsters/items/abilities.

Sometime i get absolutely dunked on, and sometime i win big. The game feels relatively well balanced, although sometimes i do get endlessly juggled. Nothing quite compares to the feelins of getting a win in this game though, and even losing doesnt feel like the worst. The rush of winning a 1x1, or perfectly timing your counter, or even escaping a bad situation all feel intense moment to moment. The solo modes are all solid, and the pve mode feels great as well.

I have played this game a few times, and every time i come back expecting it to have aged poorly, and every time i am surprised by how well it holds up. The game came out in 2008, but feels like it came out closer to 2014-2015.

The games visuals are solid enough(even though they are a little dated), but where it really shines is its ambiance. Every corridor feels tight and claustaphobic. Every vent feels like a dark endless void filled with danger. The audio consists of short, terse sting segments and the sounds of tools dropping and echoings, screams, groans, grunts and whispers. The game isnt afraid to make you feel tense and stressed, and there are few areas that are "safe" from danger.

Easy difficulty makes the game easy, but it still feels tense because it doesnt lean on the combat alone to make the game scary.

The higher difficulties, however, make the whole experience. The Tense atmosphere, combined with the hopelessness of the situation and monsters that just WONT. STAY. DOWN! it just feels so terrifying. And because of the way higher difficulties handle supplies, every shot has to count, and the enemies are relentless.

The game plays with some novel space game concepts. Now air/vacuum segments and Anti-Grav segments that, for the most part, dont feel overly gimmicky and server to make fighting the monsters feel more frantic and pressing.

Dead Space as a series is amazing, and the first game might be best of the 3 for feeling like a true horror experience.

Its pretty good. Its reminds me of like...A future witcher, but without the monsters..or maybe, the monsters were the people the whole time? (HAHA, GET IT?! LIKE THE TRAILER?!) Aaanyway, its dope.
