I've been following this game for a long time and paying attention to its development cycle through the discord, I have to say its pretty impressive work for "one guy in his garage". Kind of takes me back to the era of games where you aren't hand held at every single point and you are open to discover and figure out what you want to do with your time in game. The developer is super open and transparent about progress and responds to critiques/suggestions. If you enjoy this type of game at all, I would say to definitely give it a try. Plus its 6 bucks right now for hours of entertainment. Definitely worth it and its only going to be getting better.

Fun with a lot of promise. For a one man dev team, what more could you ask for?
Constant updates? Yes.
Responds to feedback? Yes.
Engages with community? Yes.
Demo states its a brief introduction to the game, so if you enjoy it at all. The main game will be a blast.

Fantastic, was able to seamlessly play with a buddy for our first few runs and got some decent upgrades going. It feels great, runs great, and worth the buy. Go for it, you won't regret it.

Update: I'm a 10 star general having served in every Major Order since release... The wars have been hard fought and never ending. But the helldivers continue to prevail under all odds. I live to continue spreading democracy across the galaxy.



While the quickplay is broken and joining others games via the world map is spotty, its a hard game to play solo. You can probably comfortably do medium/challenging solo from my experience. If you have a couple friends (or even one really) its a fantastic experience. The strategems, guns, and movement all feel good. It is definitely worth the price tag. I cant wait to be able to play the highest difficulties and blow up my friends (accidentally). I went super hard these first couple days even with the server issues, and I am still loving every minute of it.

An address to some complaints I am seeing:

The kernel anti cheat complaint. ALMOST ALL ANTI CHEATS ARE KERNEL, IF YOU HAVE EVERY PLAYED ANYTHING WITH EASY ANTI CHEAT OR BATTLEYE, THOSE ARE KERNEL. I'm talking Apex Legends, Valorant, PUBG, Fortnite, Rainbox Six Siege etc etc.

The premium warbond can be earned by simply playing. I have earned probably 750 credits in about 18 hours BUT I didnt even realize the pulsing lights on the levels are little payloads with goodies until hour 6. So my credits per hour is all wonky.

The servers will get better. They've already put in some good patches and will hopefully have it fixed soon (via discord messages)

The store can literally be completely avoided if you choose to, the currency can easily be obtained to get an armor for 250 credits. Just play the game and loot the pulsing white light locations on the maps.

Overall, I am super happy with the game and what they have done. I loved the first one and I will be playing this one even more. See you super citizens on the battlefield.

FOR LIBERTYYYYYYY!!!!

Multiplayer matchmaking was a bit shaky at the start of the early access but it got sorted out pretty fast for me (in the same evening of playing). Not as many heists as I was hoping for launch, but there's some nice variation in how you can do each one in different ways to keep it interesting. Many people have decided to just farm 2 of the heists for cash/xp due to shorter length, you'll discover them on your own playing. Overall, its fun. If you get good teammates its even better, if you have a full group of friends, it'll be a fun game to drop in and play a couple hours here and there or speed run levels to grind for hours. I'd say give it a shot if you even slightly enjoyed P2.

I come back every update and play the new content, hunt the new achievements, or just farm some gold for fun. It's a great time and the developers are amazing, show them support so they can continue making this game better or even something new in the future!

Absolutely fantastic game, price for play time is an amazing return. You won't regret this purchase.

edit: consistent updates, new challenges to try and achieve with almost every update as well, consistently fun. Still worth every penny.

Played over 100 hours of Remnant:From the Ashes and have been stoked for this game since I heard of the release. It has been fantastic so far. The archetypes give some new variety to the game, the gun play feels great, great quality of life changes (no more draining stamina while sprinting, while out of combat as an example). Consumables seem very sparse in the world compared to the last game so they feel much more valuable in the early game. I have some concerns for the end game because I have heard they capped the traits to a certain number, but I haven't looked into it much further, trying to avoid spoilers. I will come back and edit this review after I beat my first play through. Overall though, absolutely recommend, great game for solo play if you like a challenge and a great time with friends.

Update: Finished all the steam achievements, beat hardcore veteran, and have acquired the majority of the items in the game so far. It is fantastic. I had some early concerns, but they have announced changes in scrap gain to buy consumables, they have plans for trait adjustments to the cap as well. Definitely worth every penny, great to play by yourself and even better with friends. I can't wait to play the DLCs.

Still working through some graphical and connectivity issues, but overall a great game to play with friends or solo. Definitely in line with what they did with the Vermintide series.
