It's just such a letdown from the first game. Sure EW1 had its jank, but it was also cinematic and through-provoking. EW2 is a mess of uninteresting characters, poor game design choices, and overall downgrade in quality that a sequel should have avoided. In EW1 every enemy and design choice had meaning behind it. The major enemies had backstories and those backstories informed the player on how to take them on. In EW2 all the enemies just... exist. None of the antagonists have any purpose other than shock value and gimmick. If you like generic survival horror then there may be something her for you, but as a fan of the first game. Hard. Pass.

Enjoyable game that doesn't required playing the other two to understand. Well worth the price even if it's mostly just watching cut-scenes.
