As long as you're paying no more than how much this game cost before the Director's Cut version of this, (Around $15.00, more or less) this is arguably one of the best Yakuza games in terms of story, gameplay and fun content included.

The transition from legacy to Director's Cut is a bit controversial. Additional Graphics support, sure. Yes, language support is beneficial, being able to enjoy this game in a native language, including voice support for Japanese, English and Chinese plus text support for a bunch of other languages. But, if we're comparing this game to its legacy predecessor, it really hits below par in terms of what extra content you're getting for a renewed, full-price experience.

I am recommending this game because, at its core, the game is still fantastic despite its underwhelming re-release, but I would urge you to consider your options on how best to obtain it. If you can still find keys for a legacy version of this game cheap, you'll be doing yourself a favour without missing all that much. Plus, if you do manage to find one, this version of the game will likely be discounted automatically for you anyway, I think. So if you do feel like watching a bunch of new cutscenes that add very little and playing a mid, online brawler mode, at least by that point it's less of a sting.

Refreshingly funny, beautifully designed and just so emotive and comfortable to play. It's probably the only game series I've played lately that has made me laugh consistently with each chapter released. It knows what it is, what story it wants to tell and shows such a high level of respect not only for its characters and story but for its audience too.

I'm only 4 chapters in and each one just excels and pushes the envelope further and further in terms of gameplay, humour and narrative. I'm excited to see where it goes from here and will no doubt return when the story's ready to move forward.

This game's simple and fun. At most, all you do
is fish but there's a lot of stuff about it that's
pretty cool. Play instruments, find treasure, and so
much more. There's lots of social features to interact with other
animal avatars. People who like chill games will be
crossing this game off their to-play lists.

Played this game for the best part of 15 years.
As a game, absolutely solid. One of Valve's most engaging, fun and entertaining multiplayer shooters going. A lot of fun, interesting game types to choose from. Maybe a little unbalanced here and there, but has enough mod capabilities and variable tweaking to make for an enjoyable experience for all.

As a community, Incredible. They keep the game fun, action-packed and hilarious every time. From community-made maps, game modes, cosmetics, weapons and even movies/artwork, there's a lot coming from a very dedicated base of players who clearly love this game.

The fact this game has lasted as long as it has is in no small part thanks to a community of players who justifiably love to play this game despite its myriad flaws. I've seen it from close to its start and how it grew from there.

All it really needs is that care and attention that Valve was so well known for in the past to come forth once again. I'd previously stated that, as a service, the game proved to be abysmal as there were a number of issues in matchmaking that highlighted Valve's lack of effort in creating a fair, safe and welcoming environment for new players to thrive. The game does still have issues with hackers and cheaters but, thanks to recent efforts, that prospect has become, thankfully, less severe. I do still think that this peace from bots is only temporary but, if things continue as they have done recently, this game will still have a lot left to offer players.

At least for now, the game is playable and, to its credit, when you can play the game it is amazing. I only hope it remains this way long enough for me to enjoy it once again.
