This game is... interesting.

I think the concept is really cool and underutilised in video games, a woman has been abused by this Hong Kong mafia gang/trafficking ring and it's her turn to take her revenge, fun female power fantasy (though I do wish it went a little harder on the grit and story telling).

The execution is a bit of a mixed bag however.

The gunplay is generally fun and unique (generally BODYCAM-ish but less snappy) however hipfiring is significantly more predictable than aiming down sights, as when using the ironsights you cannot see the top of your front sight or the front of the barrel, meaning shots generally fire within a 5m radius of your actual target (If you've played BODYCAM think the SCAR with no sight but worse due to the short length barrel).
This is especially frustrating on one particular map, an industrial warehouse, where almost all of the sightlines - par one building at the end of the level - are over 20m away unless you take specific routes.

Another issue is the level hitboxes.

In many of the levels your bullets seem to gravitate toward sharp edges of geometry instead of the man standing just behind it, or you'll peek a corner and you'll magdump the wall next to you instead of the enemy down the hall.
In some window areas or between objects your bullets may disappear no matter how much you adjust your aim, this is frustrating in any shooter let alone a borderline hotline miami-paced shooter. <- This problem is very very apparent in the aforementioned industrial warehouse level, which is covered in palletes of boxes and pipes and clutter (worst level in the game by far imo).

The AI in this game is very basic, enemies will spot you, stand still and load their gun, and fire or move to a different location. The non-scripted enemies will usually just rush you in a line making them easy prey for a rapid hipfire spray. This isn't as big of a problem as you would expect due to the fast nature of the game and the quantity of enemies but it is noticable and can take you out of the experience a bit.

I *do* recommend this game if your expectations are to have 2ish hours of fun (yes this game is short, I finished it in an hour and a half) and I'd say it's worth playing on sale. This game will get more content in the future and I hope the above issues are fixed as this game could be something special once the annoyances are taken out.

[UPDATE] - According the to head moderator on the official discord, the game is unlikely to continue development, DO NOT BUY.

[UPDATE 2] - It's been 2 years. Nothing has changed, the game is 100% abandonware and I'm certain this was made to scalp people's money from that script injector trojan 'bug' once it got big enough.
The game is *probably* safe to play now (I wouldn't risk it) but it's hardly worth it, if you have any issues with the game and need help - the discord is dead, the original moderator (The PR guy) locked it all down in May of 2024 after it went mostly unmoderated for around a year.
The game is a mediocre looking Unreal store Asset flip with car and part models mostly ripped from Forza Horizon and HORRIFIC anime style player models that has a *decent* handling system. It's nothing to write home about. Just wait for NIGHT-RUNNERS and JDM to release, or play their free pre-release prologues if you're bored.

Additional note:
DON'T TOUCH ANY GAME THESE DEVS PRODUCE, THERE IS A LARGE CHANCE THEY'LL PULL THIS SCAM AGAIN.

[THE ORIGINAL REVIEW]
This game is a massive waste of potential. But also not surprisingly so.
Kanjozoku game feels like a Unity asset flip that actually is decent to play, the handling is fun, the seldom seen take on highway racing with traffic cars feels fresh, the economy is grindy enough to keep you playing but not grindy enough to wear you out, there's a decent selection of cars, some are modelled better than others, and some have more customisation options than others.

That's about where this game's good parts stop.

If you've read other reviews, you may have noticed that at one point a trojan was injected into many of the multiplayer lobbies in the game via the chat menu infecting the PCs of everyone in the lobby. The devs blamed this on third party mods (it wasn't), the community was forced to offer guides to those affected in the discord channel (the mods were also suppressing discussion there) until the issue was fixed after a roughly a week (far too slow) by implementing the well-known community fixes, the devs dropped another mediocre patch with a few new car models a few weeks later.
The game development has been dead since.

We were getting monthly or bi-monthly patches before this, and the developers and pr guy on the discord server have gone dead silent. If this doesn't seem fishy to you I don't know what will.

For $9 AUD I would have recommended this game if not for the sh*tshow of the trojan debacle and for the lack of transparency from the devs. I am almost certain the trojan injection was a deliberate attempt on the developer's part to shark some extra money from an optimistic fanbase and run with what they had.

[OLD EDIT, NOW INVALID]
If the developers can prove me wrong, say release meaningful content to the game, or actually talk to the players in any clear way, I would be more than happy to change this review, but as it stands now, do not buy this game. It is buggy, incomplete, and at the current point the devs have abandoned ship and are likely to be scammers.

One of, if not, my favourite game this year.

The spiritual successor to Chivalry in every way, new combat mechanics make the game more interesting and customisation add more individuality. Absolutely stunning. 9.5/10

Space Engineers...

A game about building things that are nothing like what the developers built because you aren't creative enough.

10/10 would be disapointed in myself again
