I would consider this to be one of the best purchases I have ever made on steam. Be warned as this game does have a few bugs, since it is still in early access after all. When I first bought it my graphics card was not supported by the game and after a few emails with the support team I could tell that they were willing to help me with my problem instead of giving me some cookie cutter awnser like some major games would. But in the newest update they added a new alternative renderer which allowed me to play the game. My first impression looking at was that everything from the menu to the small details on the map had a very comfortable feel to it. The gameplay itself has a few things that may need to be worked on just to bring the game to its full potential. Just a few of these may be a about face command. While it doesn't take much time to order your regiment to about face using movement commands, It still would be a more useful feature for those late game situations where timing can make or break a battle. Also I would love to point out the interested difficulty settings for the game. Instead of just Easy, Medium or Hard, You can choose how aggresive the AI is aswell. So you could have a Aggressive enemy with little idea about tactics or a brilliant tactician who rather defends than attack.

To summarize that whole things
+ Great graphics on menus and ingame
+ Good variety of difficulty settings
+ Good AI (Kinda expected from the creator DarthMod
+ Helpful support team

- Still has its bugs
- Lack of important movement commands (About Face, Wheels, Formations)
- Can be hard to select units at times

Things I would like to see in future
- Other important battles from civil war era ( Yes i know that game is focused on Gettysburg but could be fun DLC for future)
- Some form of Multiplayer ( Either Total War-esque with unit selection or Scenarion specific army compositions)
- Make it easier for modders ( Nick Thomadis of all people should understand how important mods could be to the shelf life of a game)

This game is probably one of the top RTS games ever. The scale is amazing from being able to view multiple star systems all the way to the small details of a small attack fighter. If you have a great computer get this with the many of Graphic mods and this game will make you s**t yourself. Combine this with the well done mods like Sacrifice of Angels 2 (Star Trek), Star Wars Requiem and various others you have you addicted for a very long time.

For a game I picked up for around $2 this game was great. Its not the newest game so the graphics arnt the greatest but the gameplay you get is. A fun game where you have the choice of sneaking up a strangling a unsuspecting guard, or running in guns blazing and leaving no man left alive. The mission variety is nice and each one gives you plenty of options to choose from like wether to steal a delivery mans uniform to sneak in or kill a guard whose outside taking a piss and take his uniform. If this game is on sale you must buy. Even at full price this game is worth the price you get it at.
