This is an in your face shooter with some fun mechanics to spice things up. When I say in your face I mean that as the game actively encourages you to charge in and shoot anything that is moving or anything that isn't just in case. You are not going to stealth in this one that is not even a mechanic in the game but you will be exploding stuff up and seeing rag dolls fly all over your screen.

Only issue I have had has been the missing voice dialogue. A characters voice sometimes will stop when they are telling you stuff which is a bit jarring but can be worked around with subtitles until its patched. Other than that its been fine with no crashes or anything else.

TLDR: 80's action movies style game play that isn't going to wow you with its story but it will leave you with a smile when you have done blowing stuff up.

Insta Buy 11/10 will buy again

(and I actually am on GoG too just to support Crate Entertainment as much as I can as they are one of the few developers out there that actually care about their game and players)

Only played just over an hour have enjoyed the setting and the music. While everyone else is flipping out about percieved limitations I am just going to enjoy the game for what it offers and trust that the dev team will deal with any issues that others may have. So far I have had non and have just had fun.

I am clicking recommend but as always ymmv depending on your tolerance and patience with ported games.

(will edit with more details when I have put more time into the game)

A old school feel tactical rpg with a modern shiny look. There is plenty to get your teeth into with this game and a decent story to take you into the apocolypse. Decisions matter and your reputation will follow you through the wasteland. You are going to need a few play throughs to see all the possibilites that are on offer with the game.

Just for clarity this game is not Fallout and while they are similar this is its own beast so should be treated as such. (plenty of nods are given to Fallout within the game though with many other easter eggs relating to many thing also hidden within the wasteland.)

At the time of writing there are a few wonky balance issue with combat mainly weapon jamming seems annoyingly frequent and that may frustrate some people. For me it added to the feel of you are scraping by with functional but not perfect weapons so ymmv on that. Also some enemies seem to have the ablity to sprint from way off screen to right in your face in a single turn (that was a little more off putting but not to the point it spoiled things for me). There is a patch that may or may not address these issues so we will see.

It might not have some of the bells and whistle that people are wanting but the game was made on a budget and what they have done is pretty stunning for me at least. So as it is I have had more fun with this game that disappointment and wouldn't hesitate to recommend people give it a go.

This is a good game and a lot of fun to play with all the various weapon configs that are in the game, plenty to explore and lots of collectables to find. Sadly in its current state it is so unstable that it is virtually impossible to play for any length of time. which is extremely frustrating. No its not my computer as it has the specs to monster this games in theory at max settings so that leaves a poorly optimised port.

While I am going to uptick this as a recommend as it is a good game of its type I would suggest everyone wait a week or so and check the forums for patch notes. If Capcom are willing to patch the game to fix the crash issues then they will have a hit on their hands otherwise its DOA and it will not rise from the grave.

EDIT: My solution to the crash problem was to use the 337.88 driver. Once I used that I could run the game with everything maxed and the framerate uncapped with no issues at all. Can't say it will work for everyone but it solved my own personal problems with the game so that I could play through it and have a lot of fun

The Secret World is in my opinion the best story driven mmo that people do not play, not that it doesn't have a healthy population it does but it should be bigger.

So the good parts if you like a story driven quest that are dripping with tension and build up the atmosphere like a good psychological horror film then this game is a good place for you. They also do the slasher horror style too if that is your thing.

They have traditional quests with way points that lead you around while telling a story but they also have investigation missions which are a different beast altogether. These are like a mini detective novel where you will have to research on the internet (no not for the walk through, play the game properly, grrrr). For instance one required me to translate Romanian another take down and decode morse code . They really make you think and will tax your brain cells assuming you do them properly without any cheating.

So stories good, it also looks pretty decent as well graphics wise and the audio does its job of building up atmosphere too (like it does in a good film).

Right the not so good (not bad just not good either). The combat is clunky and will take some getting used to. There is active dodging, telegraphs from mobs to avoid and that can get a little hectic. The skill system has so many aspect to it that it can be a very confusing thing to get a grasp of when you start. Its quite possible to make the game harder for yourself than it needs to be if you are not careful with your build (there are a ton of guides to give you the basics that will help you get a good start though so don't worry too much about that).

So yes a flawed diamond of an mmo and if you can put up with the odd bits then you will find a really great, deep and atmospheric mmo that no other has been able to match so far.

A well fleshed out open world story based game that I enjoyed a lot. Plenty of things to do and ways to do them besides playing through the story arc. The setting of a fictionalised Chicago seems pretty good to me and is full of atmopheric touches (bearing in mind the nearest I have been to the place is a movie :-) )

I have only dabbled in the multiplayer but what I have seen is an interesting take and tries to offer something a little more than shoot the other person in the face. If only it connected to the servers a little more reliably then it would be up there with the best of them.

From my own play through I had little to no issue running this game with most things maxed out (with the expection of shadows which I dropped to high) but as others have made clear loudly and obnoxiously that is not the case for everyone so your milage may vary.

Personally I would recommend the game based on my own playthrough and overall experience. Happy hacking :-)

Winner of the most improved game since its launch. Wait, what do you mean there is no such award, well there should be just so this game can win it :-)

Seriously though this game has come on leaps and bounds since it was launched. So many heroes, so much loot and so much fun. Its an easy arpg to jump into, just go kill stuff and get the loots but if you look under the hood there is plently for the min/max'ers to get their teeth into too.

New things are being added all the time, a new hero a month and new event weekly there is plenty to keep anyone occupied and also have a lot of fun with.

This is a pretty decent representation of the original from Games Workshop and if you play(ed) that then you will enjoy what is on offer here. It limitations come from sticking to the source game religiously. Anyone who was expecting something a little more Xcom will be disappointed (it was never was going to that given the devs funding limits, source game and so forth.)

For me at the moment its a little over priced and if you are unsure I would perhaps wait for a sale but if you are into the source game it will probably be worth a gamble. (Once the level editor is released then that will help on the value side of things).

Overall I have enjoyed the little bit I have played so far and while it does have some rough edges its still an ok if not spectacular game.

This is a great old school turn based tactical rpg that has tons of atmosphere, more so if you are into the Shadowrun universe (though even if you are not its still good) . It has lots of replay value (thanks to the editor and steam workshop). It is not a polished super graphical experience nor does it have to be. This game got the important part right and that is that it is fun to play and that is all that you really need to know at the end of the day
