its a great zombie game but since th update it constantly crashes on steam deck so im going to play killing floor 2 instead

i dont think i will play this again until they get cross progression

Brilliant game! It is the Mac-compatible equivalent of Megaman. If you like the Megaman series and happen to be on Mac or MBP. Get a controller connected and give this a game whirl!

I had never played HL2 or HL so I never got to have the Half Life experience, however as a standalone this allowed me to sample the engine (albeit as a mod).

I am when critical when it comes to buying games, I won't buy a game that is advertised correctly and if it doesn't look very appealling then I lose interest, but this was one of the first mods I had heard about before it even came to Steam. Now its reputation seems to increased tenfold from when I last played (probably 1 -2 years now), so there has probably been some huge modifications made to this.

As a gamer who is very critical, I have been inclined to purchasing HL2 for ages to see what the original was like as this mod was fantastic. Not only does it seem to continue to pop up at Mod of the Year at Moddb, it gives the gamer a great sense of companionship, teamwork and survival skills to keep the game thrilling. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a bit skeptical about zombie games, because as a free to play, this is an awesome choice.

In brief:
Things I like:
+ Great way to burn a few hours
+ Gameplay forces gamers to be smart
+ Teamwork is vital to survival
+ Graphics aren't super flashy but very good
+ Once familiar, the gaming experience improves dramatically

Things I don't like:
- Once you are familiar with maps, games too easy
- Teamwork isn't always great (but that's players faults)
- You have to learn where the supplies are otherwise you are screwed (no hints)

Like I said I haven't played this in years, but this is definitely an overdue review.
