Update: 11/26/2025, it's that time of year for Steam Awards, and I think I gave the nod to Blue Prince in like 4 or 5 categories. The big one I think is the "Story-Rich" award. Best of luck to Blue Prince this year!

Update: 8/25/2025, some of the things i've learned about this game, much like the best Indie games out there, this whole game is a 1 man, 8+ YEAR labor of love. People are kicking around game of the year noms, and Blue Prince 100% deserves to be considered, at the very least.

Given BG3's amazing victory in recent years, I hope this game has a chance, at the very least of taking home a few prize trophies. It really is the best $30 I've spent in a long time, and right now, it's on sale for $24!

Go get it.

So many puzzles! I've been playing on and off for a while, and I think I'm up to day 80+ on my first runthrough, and I keep finding new puzzles to piece together. I've found only 6 of the 8 "things" that seem to be the main part of the game. Only 2 of the 8 "doors" (or is it just 6, I forget now).

I admit I've cheated a couple times, but this game gives you goosebumps when you figure something out on your own, and thankfully there are plenty of puzzles you can figure out on your own. There's a ton of replayability in this game. If you're a huge fan of puzzles you'll really get into this, but you REALLY have to scrutinize everything.

I've been watching Vote5Holt doing a "no hint" runthrough of this game, and it's torture watching him miss things. You really just have to stop and look at something until it clicks. If it looks out of place, it's a puzzle to be figured out.

This is a must buy game imho, but you really have to be willing to examine everything carefully to advance.

I keep a google spreadsheet, it REALLY helps. Kind of like a murder board. Win+Shift+S and you can drag out a rectangle in game, then paste it into the sheet. Write notes around it. There's so much to learn here.

Great game. The 95%+ rating is pretty much spot on. Buy it.

Can't deny how amazing this game is and what it's done for gaming then and now.

Only about an hour in, enjoying the return to the walk and talk mechanic. I feel like multiple playthroughs will be needed to explore the (hopefully) different outcomes. I'm trying not to read too many reviews and just play the game only knowing what happened in the first Oxenfree.

I will say you don't need to play Oxenfree to enjoy this game. There's not really any mention of the first game other than, that island over there had a bunch of weird things happening like 5 years ago, mostly just to summerize the events of the last game.

Its good, pretty, the audio immersion is pretty cool. Enjoy.

Quirky little game. Explore a strange town where I guess either the enhabitants are cursed or blessed to turn into Dogs and or Cats. Oh, and you get to ride scheep, so that alone is enough to warrant a look. (disclosure, was on the Kickstarter)

Amazingly simple DnD or any RPG maps are just a few clicks away. Even horrible artists like myself can turn out a quick battle map that'll drop into Roll20 or any VTT in moments. Super useful if you have access to a large format printer and play games IRL.

Lacks some features that'd be nice like maybe layers, but for the $$$, this is a great DM/GM tool.

I lived this life for 6 years. It's pretty spot on. Find out what building video games is really like (without all that coding).

I believe you can call this a Roguelike/Survival type game? Journey down a river on a rickety raft with a faithful companion. While not explained the river is turbulant, people are few, and the wolves are deadly. Follow the currents carefully or risk getting smashed on the shores. Stop at various docks along the river and hunt for supplies. Stay out of the elements, use what you find to make food/medicines, hunting implements, clothing, and raft upgrades while keeping an eye on your hunger, thirst, body temp, and exhaustion levels.

A well done game that is dripping with atmosphere. Play in the dark with headphones.

I can't even use my mouse to navigate the menus. My 60% mechanical keyboard doesn't have dedicated arrow keys making it a bit annoying. I'll assume gameplay is like on the phone version, so not much I can recommend, other than it's free so this is all a pointless review.
