Undoubtedly the best single player game I've ever played. Gameplay, story, art, VA and banger music. This game excels in everything.

Supposedly this game was made by people who have worked at Riot games, which makes sense as in it shares a similar pattern with other Riot titles: everything about the game is cool but actually playing it makes me want to bash my head repeatedly against a brick wall.

Artstyle, voice acting and music are all great. Each character has their own little backstory as to why they're playing corestrike giving you reasons to root for them, voice acting is expressive and well-directed and the music is amazing to groove to.

Then there's the actual gameplay

A fresh mix of MOBA and air hockey where the objective is pushing a puck (or CORE, as it's called) inside the enemy's goal. During the match you level up to increase your health (stagger) and inbetween sets you unlock perks (awakenings) to amplify your abilities.

In a 3v3 setting, having teammates who are capable of playing well becomes not a privelege but a necessity and with no matchmaking whatsoever, every game becomes a gamble of "curbstomp or get curbstomped" and there is no inbetween. Whether you're going to have fun or not is decided on a coinflip.

I honestly dont want to give this game either a thumbs up or down. It's another example of why steam needs a "Meh" button. Not bad, not really good either but not bad.

In the end the game is free to play so you dont really lose anything by trying it, except from several hours off your life span from the stress of playing comp.

Takes ages to start, has practically no players left and is less balanced than an amputee without crutches.
It even made the task manager stop responding when I tried to shut it off that way. Don't bother with this game.
