I can't tell if these reviews are fake or if my group just got unlucky and it bugged out but we had several issues that made it borderline unplayable.

The AI - There were multiple times where a friend or myself was hiding, fully out of sight, zero mic input, staying perfectly still, and the AI STILL somehow knows exactly where we were and one shot us. There's also a '3 hit mode' where supposedly you can take 3 hits before dying but that flat out didn't work, we still all got one shot.

Voice Chat - Horrid. Every single person in my group had issues with their mics peaking, settings only very slightly helped. Whatever filter this puts your voice through makes it so you basically have to whisper or your mic quality goes out the window and you sound like a dial up modem. Seeing how this game using your mic input is a selling point you'd think it would be functional but guess not :/

And specifically for the other review that says there is no grind, did you play the same game? We could only play one level without needing to get quite a bit of xp to level up. That's grind brother

Even on sale it isn't worth it, you might get 30-60 minutes of "entertainment" from hearing the garbled screams of the damned (your friends) but that's pretty much it. I did get a friend killed with fart_reverb.mp4 though that was good.

We got Oblivion Remastered before TUG

For real though this game had so much potential, I feel like it could've been up there with Valheim, Ark, maybe even Minecraft. I've checked in every once in a while to see if there was any work going into it but 11 years later and it still isn't in a playable state. Guess Nerd Kingdom got their Kickstarter money and bounced :/

Please PLEASE just make a functional anti-cheat. Bots will continue to ruin your games until you do so.

TL;DR:
Base game + all current DLC costs a whopping $94.88 at the time of writing (with more DLC coming). If you have money burning a hole in your pocket go for it, the game is pretty fun, otherwise maybe wait for a sale or just buy the base game. $65+ for DLC on a $30 game is absurd

Long ranty version:
Don't get me wrong, the game was pretty fun for the 38 or so hours I have in it (AI isn't the best and win conditions aren't balanced but whatever.) The reason I wouldn't recommend it is all of the DLC. Currently only 6 clans (you know, the thing that changes your play style and makes the game more re-playable) out of 17 are available to you with the base game. I bought the game right around launch, so no DLC yet. After purchasing a $30 game, come to find out any additional clans will cost $5 each (one costs $15 because it's part of a campaign expansion.) Now that doesn't sound too bad on it's own, but when you realize there are currently 11 clans locked behind DLC, with more on the way, it starts to add up pretty quick, ~$65 to unlock all of the clans at the time of writing this plus $30 for the base game. I'd probably be less negative if either the base game or DLC were cheaper but with current pricing it simply isn't worth it to me.

Side note:
The game is free on mobile with a Google Play Pass subscription (I guess technically not free then but y'know.) Haven't tried it personally but I assume it's just the base game and reviews are rather negative so I don't plan to any time soon

Wasn't my cup of tea but I understand how others can put thousands of hours into it but it won't be supported in a few months as their cash cow Ark 2: Electric Boogaloo is coming out.

One of my favorite games from my childhood, I still come back to play again from time to time.
I've come across a few bugs, some of which being rather game breaking, but I still wholeheartedly recommend it. Well worth the price

Absolutely breathtaking

To my friends that see this game in my library and any other poor soul who stumbles upon this,
I bought it for 52 cents during the summer sale to get the $5 dollar discount. I then proceeded to play it to see how bad it was, maybe even have a few laughs, and oh boy, it's BAD. I forced myself to sit down and play this horrid game for over an hour because I'm addicted to gaining achievements, and surprise... It doesn't give it to you.
Addiction is bad kids. Don't do drugs... or dirt cheap steam games in this case.
