This game is a masterpiece.

I have never seen a game achieve such tactial depth while keeping things so simple and manageable. The battles are short, but depending on the mission objectives, time could work for either side. Battlefields are small, so they start to feel crowded when enemies accumulate, creating tension and pressure. Squads are three mechs each, but they can be upgraded and reequipped with new weapons to allow for new strategies. All of this is focused around the single, simple premise of stopping the bad guys from breaking your stuff--and in that aspect, it plays like more of a puzzle. The correct answer is one that stops the enemies from destroying your mechs or the city they defend.

The achievements are, I think, very well balanced. I just got 100% after about 24 hours of play. There is an extra squad you can unlock after completing all achievements, which is a cool reward.

Awesome game. Well worth the price. Nobody pays full price anymore, but don't feel bad if you do for this one. It's the best game I've played from 2018.
