A wholly satisfying story through and through. Pretty much the entirety of the game banks on the story alone, and there it succeeds. People that enjoy metaphysical concepts and the philosophy of being human will enjoy this. People that want gameplay alone probably will not.

The gameplay, however, is okay. Your tasks are often very linear and you're not really encouraged to go out of your way to explore things. There is the occasional thing to read, but the vast majority of the lore is along the way to your current objectives. It's very linear, but seems necessary to drive the story.

The enemies are probably the game's weakest points. At worst, they simply get in the way of the storyline. There were points where I'd poke an audio recording and hide in a corner listening to it as the monster came to investigate the noise. The monsters themselves are also very easy. Once you understand their gimmick, and they all have gimmicks, they're very fomulaic.

The worst part is that this isn't a horror game. Perhaps it's just a personal thing, but compared to the fleshy and eldritch horror of Amnesia, the enemies here seemed extremely tame. Nothing about this game was scary. If you're coming for a horror experience and you're accustomed to horror games, you're not really going to find it here. This game exists purely for the story.

That being said, if you want a solid plot with some heavy themes and decent pacing, this game is for you.
