the game is good but its no just cause 2 or anything

You never go in the walls of anything, despite what I was told. No vent systems, nothing, every level is nearly the same. I get that the setting is the North American forest but you could definitely have more varied maps. A lot of the game play is replaying levels, which if you like that, then great, if not, I wouldn't buy.

The levels would not be best described as "micro sandboxes" because in most, while you are able to approach SOME in anyway you want, ultimately you are speed running all of them and that is how they are intended (designe) to be played. If you like replaying the same levels over and over in order to unlock another level that is minimally different from the one you were just playing, this is the game for you. At least they aren't randomly generated!!!

If you've never seen any media ever, the story is really breathtaking and original.

The enemy AI is ass and don't have the right voice lines to make you feel like a badass. They don't feel scared. They run in a straight line and attack or shoot. There is no coordination. There is no taking care of wounded or covering fire or anything. This game feels like any other speedrunning game. I feel like I'm shooting targets instead of fighting people.

A game with lots of replayability and atmosphere. Very fun with friends, very scary alone. The map variations are fun nods to various sci fi media and the gameplay loop is satisfying. You really feel vulnerable and you almost instantly start acting accordingly. The rules you play by are many, but unchanging, keeping track of your battery, ammo, breaches, turret ammo, etc. Once you get the hang of it, you start to thrive. My favorite detail is that the aliens will occasionally freeze in place, hiding amongst alien fauna, throwing off your motion detector.

its half life. good story telling and action and all that. awesome

this is an open world shooter that focuses on the shooting aspect. the gun play is pretty great and the weapon degrading system makes you have to swap out weapons, meaning you cant keep just one forever. the world is brutal and most anyone can die in a firefight. i once got a quest to take out a sniper, only for the quest giver to get sniped by that very sniper. the story telling is there too, it's based off a book, so if you're into that it's got that. it's also got a little bit of horror. yeah. just enough to scare you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

really fun game all around. its fun to play with randos, and even funner with friends. you can also play singleplayer which is not as fun, but still pretty good. the devs update pretty consistently and its a unique experience. its like, realistic, but not too realistic. and also, there is mod support. very easy to download and stuff.

a good game not only because of it's old charm, but because of the gun play, story, and scripted sequences. the end is a bit lackluster but overall its great fun.

so ♥♥♥♥. stupid fun. all skill.

Basically a triple A title at this point, it's cool as hell.
