Absolutely worth the price. Would recommend it over the new edition because of mods and support for them.
I know I have rookie hours of play-time, but I obtained it from other sources and invested more than a year playing it. Keep returning to it every now and then.

I get why people hate on it, but I still would recommend it.
-Better graphics than DS? No if you have DSFix.
-Better gameplay than DS? Nah, control inputs lag a little bit (not much, but still noticeable).
-Better PVP experience than DS? Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ yes! Even better than DS3 I dare to say. PVP community is still pretty active, competitive and solid.
Get it on discount though.

As a new AoE user (yes, at 25yo playing this for the 1st time) I can recommend this game. It's one of the few that are actually educational and entertaining at the same time. So many wannabe games out there, but none is even half as agood as AoE is. Go get it now.

I've read some bad reviews, ones constructive, and others putting the game to ET's game level.
I'm personally enjoying this game so far. Ok, party queues that sometimes take eternities, or that simply disconnect the players. Mechanics are simple and at some times a little clupmsy. But still, in my experience, this is a very innovative game with it's psycho hide-and-seek gameplay, giving you the chance to be either a survivor or the killer, both with perks and usable items.
The sound plays a huge role in this game because it alerts you of the killer nearness, or if a "skill-check" is about to appear, all summed up with heartbeats and accelerating music when you're running for your petty life, or moaning from nearby scared and injured players.

Should you buy it? Totally. It'll have your heart pounding out of your chest with the thrill and excitement, or grinning like a maniac if you decide to be the executioner.
Even if you end up not liking it, you can come up with a decision within a few matches and ask for a refund just in time. (Which I really doubt because this shet is so addictive it'll have you "hooked up" the whole time)

Played this game, uninstalled and played DS2, missed the first one and reinstalled it. 10/10 with dsfix.
