You like LucasFims' "Star Wars"? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when "The Empire Strikes Back" came out in '80, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole movie has a clear, enticing story, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the film a big boost. Its been compared to Star Trek, but I think Star Wars has a far more bitter, cynical sense of realism. In '02, LucasFims released this; The Prequel Trilogy, their most accomplished movies. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Attack of the Clones". An episode so flashy, most people probably don't watch it for the memes. But they should, because it's not just about the emotional struggles and anger of young Anakin and his turn to the dark side. It's also a personal statement about the writers themselves
