Many games seek to hold the player and keep them playing for as long as possible, cranking out new content to keep their audience sated and pleased. Team Fortress is unique and unlike other titles. TF2 is a lifestyle, whether you play for fun, trading, or your in the top RGL division, its the same game but leading different people into different perspectives of what it means to play Team Fortress.

This was the first game I ever played. I installed steam as a 9 year old on my family laptop for the sole purpose of installing and playing TF2, after my brother showed me the 'Meet The Team' videos on Youtube. I absolutely fell in love with the game, specifically the Pyro class and the narrative drawn around the character. I joined around December 2014 when the Special Delivery Gamemode was still popular and Doomsday quickly became my most played map at the time. I did get better over the years, but the first thing 9 year old me would do every day after coming home from school was loading up special delivery and playing Pyro for 5 hours straight.

I made so many friends and foes playing this game, I have seen major updates and upsets, communities forming and falling, and most importantly (in recent years) bots flooding the casual lobbies. Over the last 3 years however, I have had the honor of being a part of a micro community of people who still play this 16 year old game, and have since entrusted to 8 of them my most prized items.

To each of them, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thank you for all those fun times we had making fun of map design, dueling and defeating low-life cheaters and most of all just hopping on w/ me and goofing off.

Its true, this game is in a sorry state today, but of my thousands of hours played, not a single one was wasted. I love Team Fortress 2 and so will you.
