This game offers a truly cinematic journey through two time periods that share many similarities. The tremendous work on the narrative, coupled with the attention to detail, keeps me hooked even after I've finished playing, forcing me to restart some scenes and look for new details that introduce new theories and meaning.
Much like the game's visuals (I see you, squirrels!), the characters are colourful and elaborate. Even if you just stand next to them for a few minutes, they inhabit the world and acknowledge your presence. Interacting with them allows you to get to know them better and flesh out your own character.
The musical element allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and simply be, capturing a moment in time. The lyric tracks remain relevant throughout the narrative, taking on new meaning with each segment.
The camera work feels vivid here, especially when the game slices it where you don't expect. Oh, and you can slice the flashbacks if you wish.
Four of my friends had decidedly different experiences because of their choices and what they were paying attention to.
I highly recommend it for a summer playthrough — most importantly, don't forget to buy tissues for your tears :)

Despite the easy and simple beginning, the game gripped me from the onset of Sandalwood. Every character, even the adversaries, had a narrative about freedom and their personal take on it. You don't have to leave the Downside to be free. And the wonderful team of the Nightwings allowed me to immerse myself in that theme with their struggles. But as Hedwyn said, despite supporting each other, at the end we are all left alone with our problems. I'll be re-listening to music from Pyre for a long time to come, remembering my own journey.
