Decent game despite other Doom games around now, but it has the worst shotgun ever in a video game, completely inconsistent

Black Mesa is a prime example of a remake done right, not only did they give the original game a fresh coat of paint Half-Life Source (kinda) tried to do, they also gave you an expanded experience of the resonance cascade , not just in reworked environments but with reworked characters as well, giving the facility, and especially Xen, a new breath of life. The gameplay is mostly familiar with the series, where you use your vast arsenal to fight your way to survival, with some slight changes to either make things a bit easier (On a Rail) or give an expansion on what you do (every Xen chapter)
Graphically and especially musically the game provides a major uplift of the original, feeling familiar yet fresh and genuinely gives you feelings of dread and genuine fear in some tracks while making you feel like you're a threat and are able to overcome the challenges facing you, my favorite tracks being in Questionable Ethics when you're defending scientists from the HECU right as you're finally about to make it outside and the track before reaching the Nihilanth making a grueling climb past hordes of Controllers, the game just pulls you into the world and makes you feel the dread and the progress you've made at the same time
I was hearing negative feedback on the Xen chapters and was slightly dreading them but I personally think Xen was the best part of the whole game, highly expanded to the point it feels like a true world with its own ecosystem instead of the admittedly empty islands of the original, but of course that's just my opinion and your experience may vary depending on what you like/didn't like about the original
The only issue I've had since getting the game years ago is some graphical bugs where the lighting just didn't exist and you couldn't see anything, which seemed to be fixed by the time I played on the Deck, and the only issue gameplay wise (on controller at least) is if you have auto aim on, it'll hard lock you to the first killable enemy you see, you can't really move your camera around or switch targets unless you look away or kill that enemy, I wish it would just snap the crosshair to the enemy while still allowing you to look around without the severe tunnel vision, similar to the original Half-Life titles, but that seemed to be the only thing I really had issues with, and were easily fixable
In terms of playing either Black Mesa or Half-Life, I think both are brilliant games, enough to where you should play both, because both are highly recommend on their own merits
9/10 game but only because the game made me feel sad with the Vortigaunts in Xen and what they went through before Freeman saved them

Only at the hospital but so far the remake is pretty faithful to the original game in the major story beats, and the combat is definitely better for someone who can't really do tank controls well. I'm not entirely sure about the Deck Compatibility Rating though, it's not the prettiest game by all means and in high foliage areas like the park or the forest at the beginning of the game really brings the frame rate down but it's not completely unplayable, maybe they'll update the game for better performance but I commend bloober team for the work they did, definitely did justice for the game

One of the greatest stories in gaming even today as a remake. Though many reviewers say it's pointless to do a graphic overhaul of an already beautiful game I didn't mind, the story is exactly the same as before and it will hit you just the same, especially with the scoring and voice acting conveying as much emotion as possible to a fictional language. Though the main gameplay element was to control both brothers through the journey, remote play and coop mode worked wonderfully and was a welcome addition to the game. Whether you want to see an already nigh perfect game remade with stunning visuals or just playing for the first time, Brothers is definitely a must play for anyone wanting to experience one of the most beautiful and emotional stories in gaming

Early Access Review
Works extremely well on the steam deck without any need for proton, you can definitely feel the roots of both previous Prince of Persia titles and Evil Empire's Dead Cells, frankly they made a better game than Ubisoft could have, but there might be some bias from previous interactions with the latter involving a problematic copy of a previous game

The fact that the community was able to help Arrowhead reverse the PSN requirement on this game is truly managed democracy by the people

The story of Prey is simple: You are a Cherokee man, who wishes to leave the reservation and his heritage with your girlfriend when you are abducted by aliens who feast on human flesh. Once you drop in, all hell breaks loose, and you have to fight your way out of the alien planet/ship/anus-filled thing. Everything about this is phenomenal, especially gameplay, where you shoot, wallwalk, and leave your body as a spirit to combat whatever took you. It only saddens me that the game is no longer on the Steam store for no one to experience what an amazing game the original Prey was

This game is amazing. Beautiful visuals, gripping story, and challenging gameplay. This has to be one of my favorite platformers by far, and my favorite indie game ever.
