Didn't know I was going to be lamenting the death of the American Wild West, but here I am.

Short but sweet. Evacuation suffers from some of the same issues as Swelter does, but the voice acting and story are noticeably better - meaning the bright, neon yellow icons and indicators don't break your immersion as much. The scenery is great, the levels feel believable and the story ties into the the larger overarching Half-Life storyline well.

A pretty sweet mod, very much in the spirit of the rest of the official Half-Life series. It has some interesting mechanics but not many puzzle elements. It plays a lot like Lost Coast. It could do with some voice acting and the story is pretty mysterious - but those are comparatively trivial gripes when looking at the mod as a whole.

The level design is alright and the combat is enjoyable enough, but the voice acting and story leave much to be desired. The puzzles are innovative, but most puzzles have very obvious cues (arrows, handprints for pushing, boots for jumping) or even icons, making them not very puzzle-like at all. The voice acting itself ranges from passable to bad, but the lines spoken feel like poor translations and subtract from the immersion. It's hard to get invested in the story.

Probably the best "mod" I've ever played, "mod" between heavy quotation marks because this feels like a fully-fledged game. Great gameplay, voice acting and a story that fits in seamlessly in the Half-Life universe, tying in various story elements from the official games (and, dare I say, Portal). Give it a shot, it won't disappoint.
