The new XBMC group on Steam

XBMC is an award winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media. XBMC can be used to play almost all popular audio and video formats around. It was designed for network playback, so you can stream your multimedia from anywhere in the house or directly from the internet using practically any protocol available. Use your media as-is: XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all popular archive formats from your hard drive, and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. It will even scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library complete with box covers, descriptions, and fanart. There are playlist and slideshow functions, a weather forecast feature and many audio visualizations. Once installed, your computer will become a fully functional multimedia jukebox.

XBMC now available on iOS 6.1 for Apple TV

As many of you likely have been aware, neither XBMC nor any other non-Apple media center has been available for the updated Apple TV 2 Software 5.2 (iOS 6.1).

Now, we are pleased to announce that XBMC finally supports this update, thanks to the incredible work of XBMC dev Memphiz.

To get your updates on, head over to our wiki and follow the instructions for Apple TV version 5.0 and up[wiki.xbmc.org].

I wanted to just say that I havent updated the news in this group because my CPU had burned out a couple months ago. I will be back on track soon enough, maybe 1-2 weeks away. Sorry for not posting updates lately. Everyone knows (or should know) that XBMC.org is the place to go for news about our favorite media center.

Looking forward to the new Steam Box ahd how well it integrates with XBMC (or vice versa). Steam Box qualified hardware driving my HTPC, woot!

hi guys, 1 question. in the past navi-x 3.7.8 doesnt work fine. i miss the tv channels. i mean watching the channels around the world like in the past. does the devs fix this?
