The Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) is a component command of NATO Special Operations Command and is charged to study special operations requirements and techniques to ensure interoperability and equipment standardization; to plan and conduct special operations exercises and training; to develop joint special operations tactics; and to execute special operations missions worldwide.The 3rd Joint Task Force, colloquially known as the Rough Riders, is a special purpose task force created by NATO JSOC with the intent of deterring the newly founded Canton Protocol Strategic Alliance Treaty’s (CSAT) influence in the Mediterranean. Falling under US Central Command, the Rough Riders are a unit hand picked from all NATO operating forces.
