We want VAC for Dark Souls 2 back !

Hello. You're probably here because you read in the discussions about the petition i started or because you are fed up with cheaters spoiling your multiplayer experience and searched for this group. Please read the info below to know what it is all about.

Hello DS2 community,

Judging by the comments i read in the discussions so far, nearly everyone is pretty much unsatisfied with the current state of the game and the fact that cheaters have it very easy to selfishly spoil the multiplayer experience of DS2.

I think we can agree that somethings needs to be done about that before FromSoftware Inc. moves on to other games and leaves us with a playground for players that use Third Party Software in a way, that it even makes playing online risky because your savegames can be corrupted.

So i started a petition to re-enable VAC which was temporarily disabled about 3 months ago.

I know that VAC isn't perfect. But it gets updated on a daily basis and being banned by this anticheat software prevents players from family-sharing games they cheated in. It also appears on your steam profile if you have cheated, which is a nice sideeffect, too.

The current goal is to get at least 10000 (60% of daily players that use Steam) supporters until November, the 5th 2014. I chose this date because i assume that FromSoftware Inc. currently is busy with the Ivory Crown DLC, which will be released on the 24th of this month. I also want to give them some time to patch the DLC and properly react to the petition because part of it is getting feedback on the issue.

  • We got retweeted by one of my favorite DS2 youtubers, SunlightBlade. Yay !
  • Publicity of the petition grows, yet theres still a lot to do.

  • I managed to get a contact E-Mail address from Namco Bandai Games EU.
  • I also got a offical address from Namco Bandai Games US.
  • I'm still awaiting answers from youtubers i tried to contact.
  • Changed group description and text for readability.
  • I'm also spreading the news on twitter #ds2VAC

Und auch wenn Du meistens nur PVE spielst kannste ja von Jemandem invadet werden der unfairerweise ein verändertes Savegame benutzt.

I play mostly PVE, but i support you totally in your suggestion to re-activate VAC for DS2.

Users, which disturb the groups atmosphere will be excluded permanently without warning and all of their posts will be deleted.

I'm sorry i have to take these drastic actions but since some cheaters and trolls try to damage my reputation and the groups credibility with false claims and brainless banter, they will be permanently banned and all of their posts deleted.

I created a guide on how to backup save files. I know it should be common knowledge, but there a lot of people out there that don't know how to do it. I hope it helps someone out.
