Discussions

Are you close to purchasing a game, but have a specific, burning question that no reviewer seems to address? Then, check out the Discussions tab!

Look into the "Reviewed Games" forum, find the discussion post for the specific game, read through the (review and) comments if your questions has already been addressed, and if not, ask away!

Either I or another user will personally give you your long-awaited answer.

***NOTE: The discussion tab has since been abandoned. That said, feel free to create your own forms with the same purpose in mind!

Winter 2021 Update!

Hey everyone, this is a quick update with the state of The Game Optician, and a few changes here and there:

Game reviews are going to slow down. In both Steam and the website. College life is a busy life and I don't think it's realistic for me to make reviews biweekly in this current state. That said, I will still try to review games whenever possible
Twitter is not going to be pursued. This is a simple realization; I enjoy managing a website, but I have no interest in managing a Twitter account. To me, there's nothing much I can do with such an account, so I might just delete it altogether.
Steam Group discussions are going to be reworked. I set some overly restrictive rules a while ago and I just removed them. The discussions page should be more casual and should be used in cases where I played the game elsewhere and not on Steam (since you can't review games you don't "own").

This is basically it for Winter 2021. See you in Spring 2022!!

Hello anyone and everyone out here! It's September 2021, and The Game Optician has finally launched. In its current state, here are a few things to expect:

Steam Curator that reviews games both recent and old, and showcases good games in a streamlined manner.
Steam Reviews that are detailed, but consise. They will include categories relevant to the game and quick advice on purchasing.
Reviews on my website that examine a game in its entirety, using a category-based reviewing system. This one will have more details about a game, for those who still need more info after reading the Steam Review. Currently on a biweekly upload schedule.
Steam Group Discussions to house a place for purchasing guidance and one-to-one questions & answers.
