Cincinnati, OH — Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old man, Marc Sander, in connection with the assault of an 85-year-old woman in her downtown apartment late Monday evening.

According to the Cincinnati Police Department, Sander allegedly forced entry into the residence of the woman, who remains unnamed for privacy, and physically assaulted her during a confrontation. She was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Investigators say the motive behind the attack remains unclear, but Sander’s digital footprint has raised additional concerns. Authorities are reportedly reviewing his social media activity, which includes an unusual fixation on young women creating content on platforms like TikTok.

"This aspect of his online behavior is being examined to determine if it played any role in the incident," said Detective Maria Keller, the lead investigator on the case. "At this time, there is no evidence linking his internet activity directly to the assault, but we are not ruling anything out."

Sander is currently being held without bail at the Hamilton County Jail and faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and unlawful entry. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.

Community members expressed shock and outrage over the incident, emphasizing the need for better protections for the elderly and more oversight of troubling online behavior.

"This is heartbreaking. No one, especially a vulnerable senior, should have to go through something like this," said local resident Rahim Bundass.
