A hackspace (from the English word space) is generally an open meeting spot for people with shared interests—usually in technology, computers, science, and digital or electronic art.

You can think of a hackspace as a kind of open workshop, where you'll find many things that can help you work on a project: tools, knowledge, and friendly people who might be able to lend a hand. Often, it’s also just a relaxed place to hang out and chat.
