ABOUT Rooftop Scavenge Tutorial

Basic tutorial for Rooftop scavenge

This is a basic tutorial for those who are new to playing scavenge on Rooftop. Rather than trying to explain it to all the new players in-game, I figured it would be easier to post it here and just invite those new players to come and read it for themselves.

Frames of Reference
===============
There are 21 white cans that must be put in the generator, we will quickly identify those cans to start. Players will often refer to these cans using their nicknames, and it's important to know them.

If you walk towards the helipad from the generator, you are walking towards the "front" of the map (assume it to be north for the purposes of this tutorial). There are five cans in the helipad (3 up top, 2 inside) which are referred to as, appropriately, the "helipad cans". To the northeast of the helipad, on the level below, there are 4 cans. These are called the "front 4". To the northwest of the helipad, on the level below, there are the "front 2" cans. To the west of the generator, on the main level, there are the "easy 2" cans (one up the stairs). Behind the generator, on the lower level, there are the "back 2" or "back singles" or "singles" cans. To the west of generator, two levels down, are the "hard 3" cans. To the east of the generator, two levels down, are the 3 "charger lane" cans.

Basic Strategy as Survivors
====================

Summary: If you are a new(er) player, take a rifle, stay on the main level, and just pour/protect the yellow cans (do not try to get the white cans).

Although the strategy for the team is to get all the white cans and put them in the generator, that is not the strategy for each player individually. There are four roles for the team of survivors, with each player taking on one of these roles. They are listed in descending order of difficulty, so the most experienced players will take the higher-up roles:

1) Runner - This player is in charge of getting the white cans and throwing them onto the main level.
2) Running Cover - This player is in charge of covering the runner. He will always be one level above the runner, unless the runner is on the top level. He will have a rifle.
3) Pouring Cover - This player is in charge of covering the pourer. He will also move the yellow cans towards the generator for the pourer. He will have a rifle. Optimally, this player NEVER leaves the main level.
4) Pourer - This player is in charge of taking all the yellow cans and putting them in the generator. He will have a rifle. Optimally, this player NEVER leaves the main level.

Before you begin the first round, decide who is doing what role. Typically, these two groups will work mostly independently. However, when there are no yellow cans on the main level, the two pouring players can cover the running players. Similarily, if there are a lot of yellow cans present, the two running players may help cover the two pourers temporarily.
