Give the developers what they deserve

This group represents a petition. It is addressed to the Steam developers. The Steam community wants to restore the ability to receive that small portion of the reward's value. After the update on January 14, 2026, the community lost this opportunity. Hundreds of thousands of creators from around the world have been deprived of that small reward for their selfless work.

The main goal of the petition is to restore the ability for creators to receive 30% of the value of a reward received from another community member. Until this goal is achieved, the group will continue to exist.

This text does not provide specific reasons why Steam developers should do this. However, so that the group can express public opinion, all these reasons will be listed by members of this group in the forum "Why Valve should return points to authors." Also, additional discussions related to the group's activities can be posted in the forum "Another discussions."

The group is international, so all posts are allowed in any language.

Данная группа представляет собой петицию. Она адресована разработчикам Steam. Сообщество Steam хочет вернуть возможность получать ту малую часть от стоимости награды. После обновления от 14.01.2026 сообщество потеряло эту возможность. Сотни тысяч авторов со всего мира лишились той малой награды за свой бескорыстный труд.

Dear friends. We have gathered quite a few like-minded people, but that’s no reason to stop! Invite friends, make posts on Reddit, and spread not so much our group, but our idea as widely as possible. Because Valve cannot stay silent. That post already has almost 5 thousand comments! Even under the annual summaries, there are only about 500. This might even be a historic high. So Valve and Steam won’t be able to stay quiet for long!

Don’t pay attention to the haters! They will always be there. I’m sure none of them ever advocated for removing the author reward system. They simply came out of some kind of spite, hatred, and resentment, taking the opposite stance against people for whom this really matters. Against people who actually care. THEY ARE THE TROLLS THEMSELVES. They tell us this was done to combat trolls, but in this situation, they are the ones trolling.

Also, I ask everyone reading this to form their own opinion and write it in the forum "Why Valve should return points to authors." Once we have at least 10 opinions, we can send a letter to Steam Support, Valve, and Gabe Newell himself. We just need to gather courage and patience

Дорогие, друзья. Мы собрали немало единомышленников, но это не повод останавливаться! Приглашайте друзей, делайте топики на редите и максимально распространяйте ни сколько нашу группу, а столько нашу идею. Потому что Valve не сможет молчать. Под тем постом уже почти 5 тысяч комментариев! Даже под итогами годов их всего около 500. Возможно, даже это исторический максимум. Так что Valve и Steam не смогут долго молчать!

Не обращайте внимание на хейтеров! Они будут всегда. Я уверен, что ни один из них не выступал за удаление системы поощрения авторов. Они просто пришли из какой - то подлости, ненависти и обиженности заняли противоположную позицию людям, для которых реально это важно. Для людей кому не всё равно. ОНИ САМИ ТРОЛЛИ. Они говорят нам, что это было сделано против троллей, но в данной ситуации они сами ими и являются.

Также попрошу каждого кто это читает составить своё мнение и написать его в форум "Why Valve should return points to authors". Когда соберётся хотя бы 10 мнений, то можно будет отправить письмо в поддержку Steam, Valve и самому Габену. Надо только набраться смелости и терпения
