By way of an apology for the lack of recent updates recently (we're working hard, honest!), here's a sneak peak of one of the muskets we're working on for Admiralty. The mechanism has still yet to be added, alongside the ramrod & housing, but this should give you an idea of what we're doing graphically.

This mesh has had around 7 hours of work put into it thus far (this is the first musket that we've created so far, so it took a little bit of trial & error to get it right).

The British 1778 Sea-Service musket was modelled on the Brown Bess Land-Pattern Musket used by the British armies of the era, but was unique in its distinctive square-cornered butt-plate and shortened barrel. By the time our project is set, a large portion of the crew (alongside the Marines) was expected to be well-drilled in the use of a Musket, and all the crew was expected to have at least some small arms training (though not normally to the standard of land units, given their other duties).

There are several records of batallions of Sailors taking part in land actions, and in some cases Naval units were described as being on-par with some of the best Skirmishers in the Army (Battle at the Cape, 1795).

This will be the primary musket used by the British faction on land and sea.
