ABOUT The Queen's Buffalos

The History of the Queen's Buffalos

In the 8th War of Navejenio Tribal Aggression, a small, half-starving force of Columbrit volunteers under the command of major-minor Alfred A. Lazarus were on the rout from a fever-warband of axe wielding enemy. Huddled in speeding Conestoga wagons and laden down with precious artifacts looted only days ago by the weary men, Columbrit rifles fired out at the gaining tribesmen with valiant gusto. With the small wagon train out on mostly open plains, ammunition running low, men dying in heroic poses running low and painters of men dying in heroic poses running low, Lazarus searched desperately for a solution.

It came in the form of a local buffalo stampede that broke out over an adjacent, idealic slope. As the buffalo's ran with the train, Lazarus ordered his men to fire into the herd. The rifles cracked away and the buffalos naturally steered closer to the blazing barrels. Lazarus, signaling for his men to do the same, climbed to the top over the command wagon and stood, his massive ruff and burgundy greatcoat billowing in the stiff wind. Tensing his adaquate muscles and with a steely gaze, he roared the immortal motto of the legion "Nam sanctus et honorato defensionem gens deus regina fraternitatis populus invadas praedam raptu et generalis imperialis fructus ♥♥♥ superiorem mentem opes et dedicationem" and then lept with majestic grace to the back of a wild buffalo which he missed and died. With morale bolstered, the rest of the men did the same, smashing their bodies upon the ground and bony backs of buffalo. The two men that survived the jump, Officer William H. T. Conroyson and Officer M. G. G. P. Tolesmay were able to turn their powerful steeds to face the enemy, despite breaking both arms, both legs and several major vertebras. With the buffalos turned towards the charging horde, the buffalos quickly turned around again and began blindly running the other way. Officer William H. T. Conroyson, producing his lead-copper alloy twenty millimeter Victous Maxima H. E. mark IIIXCE standard-issue Columbrit pistol, promptly disintegrated his own buffalo's head to prevent further retreat, breaking his right foot and crushing the rest of the his pelvis in the following fall.

Tolesmay did the same and the two dug in behind their makeshift buffalowork trench and managed to cut down all five thousand Navejenio tribesmen without rest or food. Hearing of the great victory, the Columbrit Queen quickly demanded the return of the two men to the capital for ceremony and dedication. With Tolesmay lying on the grand stage and Conroyson crushed to death beside him under the immense weight of nine hundred medals, the Queen formally thanked and congratulated the men, decreeing the Queen's Buffalo Legion to be officially adopted into Columbrit military code.
