Let's talk about this wage gap myth. There is a so called ‘fact’ going around saying that women make 70 cents per 1 dollar that a male makes. This ‘fact’ is completely ridiculous and cannot in any way be transcripted as a trustworthy statement. According to Bureau of Labor statistics, men work more hours by choice. Also, women are more likely to leave the work force for some time in order to raise their children, and when they return, they choose to join those jobs that are rather more flexible and part time ergo less pay, but remember, no one forced them to, they decided to. Bringing more statistics into the game, in 2014 to 2015, female CEOs earned more than male CEOs by more than $7 million in average. Female CEOs earn $18 million dollars, while the males made $10.5 million. Some extra ‘facts’, I know you’re scared of those, but deal with it, single women in major cities such as NYC, LA, and San diego have been making 17%, 12%, and 15% more than male workers. Incase you didn’t understand what I was saying, I’ll just say that the 70 cents per 1 dollar stat is invalid and inapplicable, as women and males sometimes tend to choose different occupations, in which more males choose the dangerous jobs, which then lead to more pay, and hours that they have taken into working.
