[CANCELLED] Panauan Warfare - Fight for Panau

I think you people do not like joining a group for a server which does not exist yet and where you have no idea if it is actually still being developed, right? Well, let me enlighten you ;)

But first, let me introduce ourselves: The owner of this server is (or rather will be) Netcode, hobby scripter who seriously puts a lot of effort into his script development. I am DaAlpha (no ♥♥♥♥!) and I am also scripter. I help him by developing a part of the server for him, making game design decisions and as you see, I also decided to do the community stuff.

Now for the server: This server project was planned only about a month ago by Netcode. He was working on a squad mod for battle servers. During that time, he came to the decision that there are actually barely any dedicated battle servers who are worth offering said script to. Also, the server we both played on regularily, Misterff1's Freeroam Fun Server (may he rest in peace), which was one of the major servers in JC2MP has been closed at that point, so both of us were kinda homeless. And so he decided to create his own battle server and since I helped him testing his squad script, he asked me if I would like to help him with that.

The project was born and it started off as something which sounded like a nice project actually turned into a mammoth project which does require some serious effort.

Now there is only one thing which heavily limits the progress: Due to vacations, Netcode was actually not able to script (he kinda did anyways ... do you get what I meant by "he puts a lot of effort into his projects?") so we basically could only start to do theoretical planning and I already did some basic stuff, which I could do at that point.

When he will be back at the end of this week, he will most likely start hardcore developing (my vacations will be over by then but I will still do my best to do my part) and we will probably get closer to the actual alpha opening of the server relatively quickly.

It is planned that, when the fundamental elements are done, the server will already be opened for the public so that we can get an impression about how people actually think about this server concept (Battlefield-like combat servers are barely seen in JC2) so we can see if it is actually worth continuing this project, because let's face it, nobody wants to put hundreds of hours of work and a few bucks monthly into a server where nobody wants to play on. We will be adding more and more stuff and doing tweaks here and there and if we consider it as finished, we will actually call it "Version 1.0" (of course, we will still do tweaks here and there and add some new stuff every now and then).

Now for the actual interesting part of this announcement (I hope you guys are not asleep yet): I made a list of the stuff which is finished and the stuff which still has to be done, which can be found here. Both Netcode and I will constantly keep it up to date for you as good as we can.
