Even when making all the characters so hip and cool and teen and whatever, it still was a true Sonic game.
The last real Sonic game for me was Sonic Jam,simply because it is the last game which had the classic Sonic visuals, music and gameplay. Following they added tons of useless characters which they also kept using in their future games.
After Sega stopped making consoles, Sonic Team should have stopped producing Sonic games too. All the games they made after the Dreamcast were just painful ... the bugs, the terrible music and the voice in general. I'm not talking about the voiceactors here, I mean the fact that Sonic talks. I liked him much more without a voice.
I basically lost track to Sonic about the year 2000. In the year 2007 I got curious about the new games but when I bought them I was very disappointed. I have a real unpleasant feeling sitting in my room, playing the new ones. As soon as someone enters the room I shut the game off because it is so embarrassing.
Cya ;)
