I wanted to share a game concept that I think could really stand out in the simulation genre.
A lot of sim games follow the same formula: start with an empty space, build from scratch, slowly expand.
The concept is an operations-focused simulator where you inherit an existing supermarket, restaurant, hotel, or retail store and have to deal with real management challenges like staffing, scheduling, inventory issues, payroll pressure, sales goals, poor morale, customer complaints, equipment problems, and underperforming managers.
Some possible modes could be:
- Store Manager Mode — run one location day to day
- District Manager Mode — oversee multiple locations
- Turnaround Mode — rescue a failing business under pressure
- Career Mode — work your way from assistant manager to regional leadership
- Rescue Mode — inspired by the feeling of saving a struggling business, similar to the tension of restaurant turnaround shows
