We have more than 4 friends, we have lots of controllers, now we want more games to play in offline multiplayer!

Do you organize couch multiplayer parties with your friends? Why are we still limited to max 4 players for most local multiplayer games? We want to play all together! In this group we talk about new multiplayer games you can play offline with more than 4 people at the same time: split screen, same screen and more!

Turn-based games have now moved to the More Than 4 Local Turn-Based curator. Turn-based minigames are however featured on both curators.

The reason for this change is to keep this curator focused on games better suited for parties and events.

Yesterday evening I started creating an application that does this. We’ll see how it turns out. I’m prompting it up via AI and actually have a virtual PS4 responding to input. Shouldn’t be long until there is something you can try.

Store page says "Offline multiplayer up to 8 players" and screenshots showed 8 players so I figured it was 8 human players. I'll remove it from the curator for now and add it back when supported.

SantaCorps 4 and SantaCorps: Snow patrol are only for 4 players.

The game currently only supports 4 local players, and the only way to reach an 8-player free-for-all is by adding 4 CPU players. However, the developer replied that they’re working on a dynamic player limit, which will allow up to 8 players in both CPU and local modes.
