ABOUT /me is gone, get over it

Was it really that important?

What is this group about?
Well, there's plenty of groups and petitions of people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about /me being gone, why not make a group that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about those people?

Seriously, a little more detail, please.
Figure this ♥♥♥♥ out. It's easy. The majority of the people who have had issues with /me being removed are roleplayers, furries,[puu.sh] and bronies.[puu.sh] In the grand scheme of things, these are a minority on Steam, albeit a very vocal one, that does not require special attention by Steam's developers for any reason, and any reason they give seems to be one for personal gain, not for the greater good.

This is not lack of communication between the developers of the client and the users of the client, this is removing an inconsequential and oft abused feature. It's superfluous, and just because a few hundred or couple thousand users feel entitled--yes, entitled--to this feature doesn't mean that it should be reintroduced.

This also has the effect of relieving the Valve support staff of pointless tickets regarding accounts which have been hijacked because some chump didn't know /me existed, and didn't pay attention to the warning at the very start of every single chat. It should also be common knowledge that Valve does not contact players through the community for any reason, especially not for account information or to send to websites with .ru or .tk domains.

The amount of time saved by cutting a chunk of those ticket types out will come around, believe me.

But if it's so inconsequential, why not just put it back in?
Because it's not a problem that needs fixed. It's not a major performance, security, or otherwise important issue that requires immediate attention, it's a toy for chat.

Doing so would be a waste of time and resources, which although may be small enough not to matter in the long run, may come in handy for something small and moderately more important in the immediate future.

Why not simply make it an option?
Again, it's not important enough to warrant attention, and most Steam users wouldn't care in the first place.

Does this group focus on anything else?
Not at the moment, no. Maybe in the future, it could be used as a platform for protesting other meaningless and annoying entitlement crusades, but at the moment, this is just what it says in the name of the group.

It's time to pull your heads out of your asses and quit complaining about these changes. Steam is a content delivery service first, and a community second.

Stagnant group already?
Wouldn't hurt to send out some invites, would it?

Furries/Bronies usually have a decent source of income and more often than not i see them playing games by valve so in a sense they a support steam just a little more than what you consider the "majority" i liked /me but i dont know why yet and for the past 3 years i liked it for some unknow reason and i dont usually rp x.x

It was like:
/me is playing a game
and it would show up in chat like:
LozoRozoDX is now playing a game
Basically it just removed the colon with is and made the entire text blue
