Since we lost shamefully to the TTL team, I feel like our draft picks we not as good as theirs. We need to understand more characters so we can know how they combo and counter it. If Sarah can post a announcement about this, it would be great. NEXT TIME WE WILL BEAT THEM.

Weekly Lesson #3 - Starting Items

Ah, this is probably the most difficult thing I can write about since there's sooo many options. But for simplicity's sake we'll assume that there was no bonus starting gold, since you can't random in captain's mode.

Okay so we'll go on a position by position basis starting from 5-1

4&5) These two share commonalities, they will buy the support items. One support usually buys sentry/courier while the other buys smoke/observers. These can vary and more often than not the support will buy regen not for themselves, but for the farmer (i.e. Healing Salve, Tangos). Usually has little to no starting stats.

3) Needs a lot of regen since the priority 3 is usually soloing the hardlane if a tri-lane is being ran (unless offensive tri and having your farmer solo vs the enemy solo). Usually will start with heavy stats and the observers will be given to them so they will be able to block camps. (Observers do not have to be given if the team travels together to block the camps via observer wards.)

2) Usually starts with a modest amount of regen, 1 salve, 1 tango pack and lots of stats, sometimes spends less gold in order to get a "Fast Bottle"

1) Spends all of their gold getting either pre-requisite items, or stats to last hit better or more safely (i.e. Stout Shield, Ring of Protection, Agility Slippers, Iron Branches) a simple rule of thumb if your range go Ring of Protection, if melee a stout shield UNLESS rushing tranquils.
