The history of AB Krekenavos agrofirma dates back three decades, to the time when a pig farming complex established in Krekenava town was the largest across the entire country. The production of meat products began in 1993, when a meat processing plant was built. The demand for Krekenavos agrofirma products significantly increased over the following decade, thus the company had to build a new plant, as the old one could no longer meet such a demand. Therefore, after investing more than 23 million euros, a completely new and modern meat processing plant was established near Kėdainiai. The company’s facilities covering an area of more than 22.000 sq. m. include pig and cattle slaughterhouse which is the largest in Lithuania, meat cutting and packaging plants, as well as a production unit for heat-treated meat products.
