WELCOME PSYCHOS

Ice nine Kills is a metal band formed in 2000 by our lord and savior Spencer Charnas and his friend Jeremy Schwartz. Originally named Ice Nine based off of a material from the novel Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut they released their demo-album in 2002 titled The Pop-Punk Ska Years fittingly titled since at the time their sound didn't touch metal and was a blend of pop-punk and ska. After the release of Last Chance to Make Amends in 2006 and their EP The Burning in 2007 the band shifted more towards a metalcore sound. This was noticeable in their 2010 release Safe Is Just a Shadow . After releasing another EP titled The Predator in 2013. One year later the band released a new album titled The Predator Becomes The Prey under the record label Outerloop Records. Then in 2015 they released their album Every Trick in the Book which was the start of something special. The whole release was based on books including the likes of The Exorcist and Romeo and Juliet. After a re-recording of Safe is Just a Shadow in 2017 the band released their magnum Opus The Silver Scream . Released in 2018 this album was their breakout, it included 13 songs all based on 13 separate horror movies. At the time of this albums release and preparation the band underwent multiple member changes. By the end of the album cycle they managed to replace everyone one in the band except the vocalist Spencer Charnas which has happened multiple times before. The sequel to this album The Silver Scream: Welcome to Horrorwood was released years later in 2021. This album caused INK to hit mainstream, their sound was so good that even people who didn't care for metal could get behind it. This caused a stigma towards the bands fans titling them as "posers" although what's more metal then a song about a hockey mask wearing hillbilly chopping up camp counselors, and besides the band led many people who had no previous intrest in the genre to dive deeper and fall in love with other bands such as Cannibal Corpse, which their lead vocalist Corpsegrinder was featured on the track Take Your Pick based on the movie My Bloody Valentine. Both of these albums feature music videos that connect to tell a intricate story, showing that this band is more then just their music. Their most recent release was a single titled A Work of Art , the song was released October 11th of 2024, this was the same day as the release of Terrifier 3. That was no accident since this track was created for the film specifically and was even featured in the film (I know INK on the big screen!!!) The actor behind the antagonist of the series David Howard Thornton reprised his role as Art the Clown in the music video release on the same day. As of April 5th 2025 we got conformation that the band is working on new material for release in the future, presumably A Work of Art will be featured on their next release.
